I use these for exercise. I do a lot of barre work and floor work with pilates and similar exercises. I wanted something that would help my feet feel more stable than wearing socks and more supported than being barefoot, but also have generous flexibility for certain stretches. I had a similar pair of these years ago when I practiced ballet and hoped these would be the same. They are. For my purpose, they're perfect and exactly what I wanted. They also fit great and feel comfortable all the way around. I wear an 8 1/2 in everyday shoes, and these are true to size on me. The canvas is soft but has a nice weight to it. It does not feel cheap in any way. It's heavy enough to feel substantial without being rough or too rigid. The criss-cross elastic straps hold the shoes on my feet but don't pinch or bind. The elastic around the top edge fits snug but doesn't also doesn't bind. I have narrow feet, so your mileage may vary on that. The heels fit well. Not too snug, and not too loose. I really love the attention to detail with these shoes. I think they are made well. The pinches and gathers on the sole are even, and all of the stitching is straight and sturdy. The leather sole pads are nice, too. Inside, they are as I expected them to be. A lightweight cotton insole appears to be glued down, which is what I expected. It's comfortable. I haven't worn ballet shoes in many years, but I got exactly what I had hoped to receive. Top to bottom, I think these are great and I will order this brand when these finally wear out.

I bought these for an occasional drop-in adult beginner ballet class. I purchased a half size down from what was recommended, and I think that's the right size for me. They are a little tight lengthwise, but a little loose widthwise. They are very comfortable though and I was able to complete class with no issues. They have a broken soul on the bottom for extra support without restricting movement. I like that they're black and the fabric is breathable. They're an excellent value of the price.

I bought the shoes for square dancing. Was not sure if they'd have enough support, but they do. I danced 6 to 7 tips at square dance easily with no problem. They have just enough slip for grapevine and swinging, but not so slippery to be a falling hazard. The tan color matches my skin - someone thought I was barefoot until they looked closer - so they go with all my dance outfits. I really like that there is no string to have to tie and they fit with no gaps. I wear size 8.5 and have a wide foot and they fit perfectly. I would by again and recommend for square dancing!!
