Q: Is punch included so I can make my own music ?

Yup, it comes with a puncher to make your own songs. If you're interested, I also made a bunch of songs for the music box at: https://shop.tabormusicbox.com/collections/30-note-music-box-songs

Q: What does it come with?

Paper strips, about half of which have songs (dots) printed. None of the strips are punched; it comes with a paper punch for that. Mine was also beautifully wrapped with a bow in a 2 part box. If you like music and mechanical gadgets, you'll like this.

Q: I ruined the gears by putting too thick paper in. Can I purchase a new movement only to replace the broken one?

get the brass ones, look them up on amazon. exact same thing happened to me

Q: I purchased custom made strips already. Would they play in this box if they were laminated or should I just keep it as the paper is?

Laminated might work, if you work the strips good so they are more malleable. when i needed a longer strip than i had, i used packing tape to connect two strips and that seemed to work okay. the machine definitely noticed the thicker strip and it struggled. one upgrade i would do regardless of what paper you are putting through it, is upgrade the plastic gears to the brass upgraded ones! trust me, its worth it.
