I’m so used to using other products that give me time to fool around with my baby hair before they are locked in place. This stuff does not play around. I no longer need to tie down my edges and let them dry in place. Once you apply this edge control you have a few seconds to style those baby hairs before that’s it….they are set. They aren’t moving. This is so great. Now I need to use another product to learn how to make my baby hair look cute before using this because this was my first attempt for the day and now I feel like I’m stuck with these. Ha! Luckily I’m not going anywhere today so this is ok. Look no further and buy this product. It works great!

My husband used his account to purchase this for me. The good thing about it is if you have dark hair, it helps cover Grey's a bit and smoothes down edges and flyaways. I actually use it throughout my hair a little bit to define my curls and keep them more stretched out. I don't have super tight kinky hair but it's definitely not wavy and defined without this stuff. Gel like eco styler isn't going to do it for me. It doesn't have enough hold to define my curls. Plus a little goes a long way and my hair actually feels soft. That said, I do NOT like the smell. To me it stinks. I bought some jasmine essential oil and added a few drops to the jar. That fixed the problem. I'll keep using it because for my hair texture, it simply works the best at laying my very thick hair down and defining my frizzy/fuzzy hair into waves and curls. Oh and I have no problem washing it out with a regular sulfate free shampoo.

First of all my hair is thick and I have 4C corkscrew type hair. I was told to try Gorilla Snot by a client but decided against it when someone told me that it would take out the little edges I had. So I decided to try the next best thing. Apparently, I wasn't paying attention when I bought this because I thought it was the clear version. When it arrived I gave it a try. To my surprise, it colored my tiny gray edges black. My little coils fought an easy fight with this gel because it failed to hold it down. I use it daily and I find myself spritzing with another product just to hold it down. I do like this get it gives you a soft hold and colors the gray for the day but if you looking for some kind of hold chile you need to look elsewhere.

I wouldn’t recommend getting this black gel since it smears so easily. Don’t think because you’ve applied earlier in the day while you’re styling your hair that it’ll dry up throughout the day hoping you won’t get any product on your hands because it will. Leaving this product in your hair will smear your silk bonnets, towels, and any other fabric that will be near your hair while using this gel. It also does not hold up well outdoors.

It gets the job done unless the sun is out, or you don’t wrap a scarf around it lol. I have type 4 edges, so they don’t stay down so easy. The product def lays them down, but 3 minutes later, they will lift lol. But it’s no problem for 5 dollars. It does flake up tho after 2 or 3 days, especially if you put more on top. But anyway, it’s good for the price. Don’t recommend for doing anything but going shopping lol. Hopefully it isn’t hot out. Or your edges may start frizzing up.PS: But they do have a new edge control out, it says extra firm hold!!

After years of wearing braids in my youth it left me with very thin edges. So I was looking for something just to fill in my thin sides now that I gone to using protective hairstyles. So I took a chance and I bought this product and I'm writing this review because I've had great results filling in my thinning sides as you can see from the before and after picture. It has a nice smell doesn't leave stains on your hands or pillows. I've had no problems with flakes or hardness, it leaves my hair feeling very soft and it has a nice smell it. I apply a little at a time with a brush blending until I achieve the right shading. You can see the results for yourself from the pictures.

So happy about this product it was a simple solution for me with thinning edges. Perfect texture holds and color doesn't bleed or look unblinded. Great deal on this product

Used it for my jumbo box braids - this product smoothed all my natural tight curls down in the braids and it gave me sleek smooth edges - just wish there was more!
