These sponges work great in my aero garden
I have been starting my flower and vegetable seeds every winter , so by the end of May I have healthy strong plants for my garden. The plants germinate in a week and grow very quickly so we can transplant the plant still in the wet sponge into dirt in about 3 weeks. I just have to be careful not to break the long roots growing outside the sponge, because they can entangle with the roots of the plant next to them. They are fun to use and save money as the cost of healthy plants purchased at stores can be pricey.

Expand to fit aerogarden seed starters
At first I thought I would need to return them because they were much smaller than the grow sponge that came with my aerogarden seed starter kit. When I put them in the unit they expanded to fill the space snugly. They didn't grow algae like the aerogarden sponges either. Definitely recommend.

replacement for Aerogarden brand
I bought these as a replacement for Aerogarden. They work fine, but know they are smaller than the Aerogarden brand.

Grew Moss on the top of the Grow Sponge
Unlike the OEM peat compressed grow sponges, these Grew Moss on the top of the Grow Sponge after a couple weeks of usage. This inhibited growth from my seedlings which is a big no-no for gardeners.

Not much luck
I cant seem to get good performance no matter the conditions or crop. Ive gotten mold and mildew, smaller than most hydroponic slots where as the name brand never has issues. I cant recommend them.

Crap
I'm a certified gardener at the NYBG. I was looking for the cheapest plugs available, and I found these. Big no-no! A waste of money and what's worse, a waste of my time. I used them for propagating "impatients" and "parsley". The plugs are not soft and porous, like the original, like they're supposed to be. They feel gummy to the touch, squishy, rubber-like, which made me think they contain plastic, yes plastic!! Something that would not, or maybe never, decay in the soil any soon. They are elaborated so densely leaving very little room for air circulation. Consequently, happened what was predicted. Just a few of them sprouted. Among these few, some of them produced just a couple of leaves, but then they didn't grow anymore and eventually degenerated. I initially didn't understand why, I have experience in horticulture. I've done this hundreds of times and never came across a failure of this magnitude. I dissected one of the plugs with a seedling in it (vertical cut) and I immediately realized why. The roots just could not push and grow through the plug because of its high level of compaction, they're like rubber. I rescued these few tiny plants by changing them to plugs from another brand, trying to save the few little scarce roots, but., at least it worked. I saved a few of them. Afterwards, I ended up with just 15-20% of success. I worried for my time wasted, a client left waiting for his plants, and all just for saving a few bucks. Keep away from this crappy product. Don't use them even if you were getting it for free. Buy the better and more expensive ones. I don't mention brands because I don't want you people think that I'm advertising someone.

Perfect fit for aero garden
The package seemed small on my porch to be 100 of these but after opening the nice little plastic box and putting 23 of them into my seed starter there were still a lot left. They are easy to drop seeds into with a slightly larger than original brand hole and they expand to fill my aero garden nicely. Very excited to see how well my first batch of veggies sprout in these and will most likely be ordering more.

Work Great in my Aerogarden
I have now planted 6 pods and they have all grown very successfully! They don't completely fill in the basket space but it doesn't stop the plants from growing and producing! I would buy these again.

So small
Compared to others I have bought these are half the size. I am using in my starter tray so they will work okay. But for standard areogarden tray they will be too small.

Aerogarden sponges
These sponges are smaller than the usual that I have used but they expand just fine in my aerogarden.
