There's elastic at the bottom of the pants legs. It doesn't squeeze too tight so you can forget it's even there.

Q: do these shrink in the wash? they fit now, but if they were any smaller, they won't...

Rayon is a wonderful delicate fabric that drapes beautifully. Item made of this fabric should be hand washed and hung to air dry. The garment won’t shrink unless it’s not washed as recommended.

YES the large is going to be ok! I wear 12/14 and got the Large per the size chart and they are perfect! XL would’ve been too big.

Q: I am 5'4" , weigh 150, my waist is 34" and my hips are 38" . should i order large or medium? my sizes vary from 5-9, i tend to buy loose clothing.

If they are the same as happy trunks and elephant pants, id go for a Medium...I'm 5'4" and weigh 158. I'VE bought both large and medium. The medium I prefer...the large look baggier. They are awesome pants. I've bought other happy trunks and elephant pants. They are very similar.
