Ok, Good & Great
WAIT - The only deerskin is a small section on the fingers and the palm. The rest of the glove is a felt like material.Ok, hear me out - First of all I haven't had the chance to wear these in very cold conditions, so I'm speaking on what I know at this time. Fair enough?Ok - the material is a soft and spongy. I was hoping for more of a leather style with an insulated layer. Of you get anything on these you will end up having to wash them. I haven't tested how much they soak up liquids, or how well they hold up to being washed & dried. To be honest, considering how cheap they were I can't hold them to a high standard. I bought these because of the high ratings.Good - I say this because I like tighter gloves. I'm retired military and I like gloves that allow great finger movement for shooting and detail work. These gloves are like having your hands surrounded in marshmallow goo. They are wonderfully comfortable, and the fingers move perfectly for 99% of all normal actions.Great - This is where you need to pay attention. If your buying these for kids who will spend hours making snowballs, they will end up with wet hands. If your the normal adult, you will LOVE how comfortable these guys are. They honestly remind me of curling up with a hot blanket fresh from the dryer. No, I'm not going to break down and start singing Christmas songs!!! Lets face it, these bad boys cost less than $12 a pair. They fit well and so far I can't see any downfalls. With all this in mind I give them a great review. HOWEVER - if they don't hold up once the snow starts falling I promise to come back and let you know.PS - Folks PLEASE do all of us a favor that depend on others reviews. When you run across those products using fake or paid for reviews - please leave a review titled "WARNING" and tell other the reviews are bad. Warm for Minnesota Winters, Probably Not Waterproof
I was hesitant to purchase these gloves because I have never heard of Heatlok and could not find a lot of information about it. I am glad I made this purchase. I do not know how well they will hold up to snow/rain, but they are indeed very warm. I live in Minnesota, and I anticipate that these gloves will keep my hands as warm as any in temperatures around 0 F. One thing I was worried about was the logo on the gloves in the pictures - for those of you with similar concerns, it appears to just be a watermark on the image; the gloves I received had no logo on them, just black material.Although they are very soft and comfortable, my only complaints would be that they probably are not waterproof and the fit on the thumb and pointer finger were a bit long (I cannot go a size down b/c fit on the middle and index fingers is perfect). I am pleased with my purchase, but I will have to wear them through the whole winter (in a variety of conditions) before I would decide whether I would buy them again. I will try to remember to update this review in the spring.

Comfortable and Warm
I had a pair of gloves labeled "Winter Deer" from what must be a predecessor brand name for probably a decade. They were so comfortable. They were worn, stained and looked bad. I bought many gloves over the years - but they never were comfortable, too tight on my finger tips and therefore not warm for day to day activities. So I would stop using them after a week and go back to my "Winter Deer".I was really happy when I saw these on Amazon and they turned out to be the identical gloves with an updated brand name. I couldn't be more pleased. "Fit like a glove" and kept me warm.

A winner In all black, deerskin suede, ample insulation for cold weather, good mobility, Very small sewing problem
I got a pair of work-able gloves that are quite warm unless you are out all day in 10 degrees and not moving enough.. The design and materials are almost perfect. Deerskin leather does not shrink when wet and dried, so the deerskin suede s a huge advantage.(Suede is split leather, so it's flexible and articulate with good durability but not as durable as full grain.) Miy new pair are all black, and they are great for all but the most formal occasions. I would wear them into a corporate environment if the temperature was less than 20 degrees. For a CEO, corporate VP, or someone whose image is a major foundation of their power, I would not recommend wearing these into the office. For the price they are very good.. I have purchased similar gloves before but they were orange in the palms and had the Caterpillar logo, and for me the orange palms are too informal for most work occasions. The deerskin suede offers a minorly compromised grip. Certainly good enough to drive (unless you are racing). The insulation is very good for gloves you can drive in, better than the fancy ,tailored, insulated, Italian, leather gloves my old girlfriend got me) or my Polartec 300 or my polartec 200-wind-blocker gloves.. You could not drive in those Polartec gloves (from TNF) if not for the plastic grip patches which suck heat our of your hands. I'll use the Polartec gloves for moderately cold yard work now. This new pair had a small, but definite defect where the insulating layer has an odd fold in the thumb. Cannot be seen from the outside (that would have been instantly returned). I notice this when I put them on, but it does not impede mobility or warmth. Once in the glove it is almost completely unnoticeable Still I would classify what I received as a "second" My rating as is is 3.5 stars. and if these were perfect, I would give them 5+++
