They’re OK. Much like paperclips, they are generic & functional. I purchased the variety pack so I would have a case and an assortment of clips to work with depending on need. It’s a simple design and solid build. Unfortunately, not all of these were able to handle all of my hair styling needs. They are sturdy with strong springs, so are very effective in holding curlers in place without hair damage. However, the design of the large clips differ from the small & medium clips by having a center with holes on top where the surface on most of mine (7 out of 10) were not smooth but rough. It’s almost like they were punctured upward without edges smooth down. My hair (which is thick) gets snagged and tangled up into the large clips so not a solution for me when sectioning hair, holding back hair for facials, makeup, styling etc. That job is best left to my claw clips for now. I do like having all the clips contained in their own case which attracted me to this pack. Considering the price, this is still a good variety pack or starter pack of 40 duck bill clips in 3 different sizes. *PSA: Check the surfaces of your large clips to avoid rough edges that may snag your hair.

These worked alright, which is why I gave them 3 stars. I like that there are a variety of sizes. However, I have very thick hair, and these are too flimsy to hold it and bend. The clips are also too small to hold my hair out of the way in any meaningful way when coloring or styling. They would be great for pin curls and letting your curls cool after using your curling iron.
