perfect storage for a small amount of coffee - maybe a little more than a pound.Pulls down to 250mbar and it did not implode. This gasket may require some cleaning and mineral oil to prevent big leaks. Small leaks will be inevitable.

Worked badly until I replaced the rubber valve by one that I took from another VacuVin wine bottle stopper. The problems were:1. I had to be unrealistically precise in how I positioned my hands when pumping in order to not tilt the valve, causing air to rush in. The sensitivity was really intolerable.2. Even after I'd pump it, with it confirming a vacuum by making a few clicking noises as I pulled the plunger upward, I've many times come back to it the next day, pressing it to undo the vacuum to open it, only to find that there's no vacuum! So there's no telling how long your freshly-ground coffee is really just in an ordinary, non-vacuum-sealed container, oxidizing!So...good product, when the stopper is good. I don't know how often the stoppers are good or not, nor how long this one will remain effective.--- UPDATE ---Well, that didn't last long. Less than 24 hours later I found that it'd lost the vacuum yet again, even with the improved air valve. That practically makes the product fail to accomplish the one purpose for which it was designed. Apparently no quality assurance / testing was done.

Took two attempts to get it to pull a vacuum. The top needs to go on a certain way. Corners are different so you have to get that part right first and I didn't see anything about that in the instructions. So, jury is still out for me. 3 stars for now but we'll see how it goes. I've had multiples of the original cylindrical shapes and they still work just fine. Wish I could still get one of those.

I have to moisten the valve frequently to get the canister to hold a vacuum, and even then it usually loses the vacuum within a few hours

I've been buying and using them for years. As long as you buy the original you will have an great product and awesome experience. Check out the larger size.
