These are the best quality sheet style cob LEDs I have found in this price range.
I have purchased a lot of LEDs online, but am almost always at least somewhat disappointed by the low efficiency, color of the light, and durability of it. These, however, have not disappointed me at all. They are about 100 lumens per watt as far as efficiency goes, which is not upper echelon per se, but it is definitely significantly better than the vast majority of the LEDs you find online in this size and price range. In practice I find that the actual driving voltage needed for the 16 watts it is rated for is around 11.7 volts once the LED is up to running temperature, so if you plan to run these LEDs straight from a 12.00 volt source, it will run closer to 20 watts, which means you will need either a heat sink, a cooling fan, or a cool environment to keep it from running too hot and shortening its lifespan. If you are going to use these on a vehicle with a 12v system, keep in mind that the alternator will raise the voltage up to around 13-14 volts while motor is running, so if you ran heavy wire straight to these LEDs, you'd burn them out pretty quickly. In this case you should do something to limit the current going to the led, like using long thin wire (but not so thin so as to make the wire get super hot), a power resistor, a voltage or current regulating circuit, etc. I am very happy with the light output of these. If you want to really crank these up and put out a TON of light, you can get over 3,000 lumens out of them, but you had better make sure to heat sink them really good. They will just about blind you at that brightness! I bought both the 6500k cool white version as well as the 4000k natural white version, and I really like both color temperatures really well. I haven't checked to see if anyone else happened to write any negative reviews, but if they have, just take it with a grain of salt because no product is ever going to be absolutely perfectly flawless, and a lot of times the negative experiences people have can be attributed to improper use. Use common sense- if the led is too hot to touch, then you need to do something to change that, or else you will end up having a negative experience. Heat is a killer for ANY LED no matter what brand or quality. I couldn't be more thrilled with the quality of these LEDs.

Extremely bright - current limiting is a MUST
I love these things, they are extremely bright. A warning though, unless you are using active cooling (heat sink thermally adhered to the back AND a fan) you must use a current limited supply. If you just hook them to 12v without active cooling and power them on they will very quickly get so hot they burn your hands, and then they will burn themselves out. My solution was to use an xl4015 dc dc cc cv buck converter: raising the voltage to max so the 12v supply voltage would not be reduced, then slowly raising the current from the low side until the lights slower came on and then got brighter. I stopped turning when they started to warm and went back ever so slightly. Now my work light can be extra bright, quiet, and not on fire lol.

Bright!!! I will buy more!
Amazing & bright!Like everyone says, use a buck converter or something. I'm running 2 for a nerd work light @ 11.2v, 16W... they get hot even @ 11V!I am buying more!

Wow these are bright!
These are extremely bright and will need a proper heatsink. So far just bench testing but Im impressed with the output. Hopefully they will last with the proper heat dissipation and a reliable power supply.I will revisit this once I have a long term installation to evaluate.

A bargain at twice the price!
I made a custom walnut articulating light fixture with a stationary bar and 2 pivoting arms. All of which have these led boards recessed into them. Super bright, easy to use/install, and cheap to get. Yes, use heatsinks, and heat resistant adhesive and all other common sense precautions that should be no-brainers. Don't be dangerous and don't be an idiot... Research proper uses and procedures, and if you don't know what your doing, then hire a professional and be safe. Enjoy!

super bright,
although I had to add my own heatsinks. Also, I had to increase the voltage to 11.5 - 12.2 volts to get sufficient brightness, They are AMAZINGLY bright!!!

Harzardous beyond compare
These panels are fire hazards. They reached 327 degrees Fahrenheit just before melting the solder off the connectors. I placed a full sized heat sink with fresh thermal transfer compound and it reached 200 degrees in 10 minutes. They are extremely bright, but also FAR overdriven. Not recommended.

HOLY #$@%^
These lights came quickly and are exactly as advertised (if you read all the info)I ordered these and appropriately sized heat sync for each light. Soldered up some 14 gage leads and wired them into my motor homes "docking" lights. They are strikingly bright. (perfect by me, but a bit too bright by my wife's opinion)Mounting is up to you to figure out. Not plug and play, but for this price for FIVE lights...
