Overpriced...just does its job

I had the older model of this light for about two years and recently decided to spring for the new one. The price didn't increase dramatically at all, but it gained the timer and day/night cycle features. The old light still works, too, but I love that this new model doesn't require a separate timer.I keep shrimp in a 6-gallon cube, so the slow ramp up in brightness is great for minimizing spooking. I also really like that I can customize the blue-ness and brightness of the twilight lighting, since I'm not a huge fan of some lights' bright blue moonlight. You can do the same for the daylight lighting, but I left that alone for my live plants.So far this light keeps time very accurately and has been a great set-it-and-forget-it addition to my many tank lights. It's a great deal for the price, in my opinion.

I got a betta fish recently and a pre-owned aquarium - 3.5gallon. It came with a tiny LED light that was also half broken and only on and off for white and blue light.I was looking for one with a automatic sunrise-sunset timer at a reasonable price that would be suitable for this size of a tank.After days of research on both USA and Canadian Amazon - this came out to be by far the best value and functionality. It does the timer, it has a manual mode and you can set the brightness for each mode - it's absolutely fantastic product! The small tank I have only needs 5% intensity for the blue light at night and only about 10% for the daytime - so it has a huge potential. No live plants here so it doesn't have to be so bright. I will post some photos and update after some time of use.I recommend this to others for small tanks of the 3.5-5 gallons depending on their shape as it's narrow.

Very good light works good and had programming options. Excellent price for the quality and functionality. I recommend this fir small tanks. I like it so much I have purchased 3 of these at different times. No worries and work great.

I mainly got this light for the ramp up and dim down features, to make it less stressful for my bettafish when it's time for lights to turn on/off. I feel it's worth noting however that the ramp-up/dim-down features involve blinking additional LEDs respectively on/off every minute or so. So instead of a straight slope, think stairs (-1 star).Aside from that, the day and night cycle is very (and easily) customizable and I feel this light is plenty bright for a nano tank - I find the brightness is plenty at just ~15% for my 5 gallon tank.
