NICREW Clip on Aquarium Light, Fish Tank Light with White, Blue and Red LEDs, Planted Aquarium Light for Nano Tank, 2 Lighting Modes

I have NICREW LED light bars on all my aqauriums, except my small 3.3 gallon shrimp tank. That one had an Aqueon nano tank light, however, it was not adjustable and too bright. With this new NICREW light, now I can have the right amount of light for my plants, set the timer, and not worry about algae blooms due to too much light. It fits best on rimless tanks. If you have an aquarium 5 gallons or smaller, get this light bar!

This little light was exactly what I was looking for. It's been running great for a few months now, so I wanted to review it. I have it on an aqueon 6 gallon frameless cube, and for those dimensions (about 12") it's perfect. Plants are growing great, not too much light as to cause algae outbreak. I have some floating plants that diffuse it a bit. I run it on 100% for most of the day. The controller was easy to program following the included instructions. I love the sunrise and sunset feature. No timer needed was my big purchasing factor. You can't beat the price on this for what it does. If you have a planted nano tank, this is what you want! I'll be getting a second for my next tank. I run a nicrew filter on this as well and it works great!

04/24/2023: UPDATE! Just received my 2nd light and it works perfectly. I am so happy! I included a photo of my phone light vs the aquarium light to show how bright it is. Its perfect for my planted guppy tank. It’s small/compact, but bright/powerful and can lay directly on the tank lid or it can be clipped on the side/back. The clip is a little snug around the black plastic trim rim of my 10 gallon tank. I would say that for me this was definitely worth the price and very affordable in comparison to some bigger name brands. Also very fast delivery! This 2nd light is a 5/5, but I’m still giving a 4/5 just because my 1st light didn’t work and I have to return it.04/22/2023: I’m sad to say that straight out of the box, it didn’t work at all. It’s like it’s getting no power at all. I tried holding the buttons down like the instructions say, that did not work. I pushed all the buttons, nothing. I will be sending this back and purchasing a second one. My sister has this same light on her 30 gallon planted aquarium and it has worked extremely well. Her plants and guppies thrive. I am hoping to achieve the same thing with my own planted guppy tank so I really want this light to work for me, it’s extremely affordable. *IF/WHEN* it works, it’s definitely worth the price when compared to some of the bigger name brands. I will write another review or an update on this one when I receive my second light.

I had the older model of this light for about two years and recently decided to spring for the new one. The price didn't increase dramatically at all, but it gained the timer and day/night cycle features. The old light still works, too, but I love that this new model doesn't require a separate timer.I keep shrimp in a 6-gallon cube, so the slow ramp up in brightness is great for minimizing spooking. I also really like that I can customize the blue-ness and brightness of the twilight lighting, since I'm not a huge fan of some lights' bright blue moonlight. You can do the same for the daylight lighting, but I left that alone for my live plants.So far this light keeps time very accurately and has been a great set-it-and-forget-it addition to my many tank lights. It's a great deal for the price, in my opinion.

I love this product, but unfortunately I can't recommend it.I bought the marine version of this product to grow coral, and was very surprised at the brightness and overall quality and features it packed. This light is bright enough that I am using it on a 75 gallon right now (with low light corals).I wanted to buy a few more to fully light up the tank instead of spending hundreds on name brand lights, and was very disappointed in my second light. Not only did it NOT come with a POWER CORD, BUT instead of TWO ROWS OF BLUE LEDs (the light that grows coral) and one row of daylight LEDs it has ONE ROW OF BLUE LEDs and two rows of daylight LEDs.After I used the power cord from the other light I realized that the timer DIDN'T WORK. On the first light you had multiple lighting modes, timers to change between different modes, and even sunrise and sunsets to help the fish and coral wakeup naturally, but the second one just turned everything on or off!!! No special lighting modes, no timer, no anything.JUST TO TOP IT OFF after all that disappointment nearly HALF of the few blue light I did get DIDN'T WORK.I was able to return it and receive a new one that worked as intended, however, to me the most important thing when buying something is to get what you bought. Therefore even though I love the (working version of the) product I can't recommend it.

I'm using this on my little 5-gallon shrimp tank and it's perfect. It was hard to find a small, inexpensive light that is programmable and has the sunup/sundown feature. Sudden light changes were startling and stressing out my shrimp every time my old light came on or turned off.The controller is easy to program and has lots of options for light intensity and nighttime "moonlight" for none, part, or all of the night.

It looks nice on my recently set up nano Fluval 5 gallon chi reef tank. It looks nice and fits perfectly. It fit my rimless tank and installed quickly. The timer was easy to set. The light quality is strong enough and may be adjusted as needed. The sunrise and sundown functions are awesome. Just set it and enjoy your tank.
