Excellent work
Bought this for my 7th grader and they absolutely loved this, so much so that when I found out they were coming out with another one for older kids, they literally jumped for joy and was genuinely excited. This was fun and exciting for them, and they were always excited when it was a day they needed to work in this. I remember going to outdoor school when I was in 6th grade, and by the time I got into high school a lot of schools (in my state at least) were fazing that experience out due to budget issues. I got this book in hopes that it would be an adequate replacement for that knowledge I learned during that time. It's not the same as being outdoors immersed among the elements that you are teaching them about, but that's where you as a parent come in and take them out for hikes and take them to these places and point out what they are learning in the book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone helping teach their kid about this sort of this, wither it be due to the lack of this teaching in their schools or because you are going on a trip outdoors and want them to have a more knowledgeable experience to go with it.

A Fun Activity Book
The media could not be loaded. This book was fun to incorporate into our lesson plans for Science. It wasn’t a legitimate replacement for a workbook, but instead a nice addition to Science activities. It gave us a lot of informative & hands on projects. My girls really enjoyed making their own fossils, and making a track station to see what animals were out and about in our back yard. They also learned a lot about the weather and some Geology, as well. Only complaint I have is I wish it was a little longer (more pages)

So good
I love this so much and so do my kids. I wish there were 100 more where this came from! We home school and having something engaging and beautiful and meaningful they can do independently is gold.

all 3 of these books are worth buying for your little ones. my daughter is 5 and we got her the 1st one and she loved it so she got the other 2 as stocking stuffers for Yulemas . i try to teach her that we are all part of nature and need to live as close to it and understand the natural world as much as we can. these have been great winter books when you are craving the sights sounds and critters of the woods =)

Fun and engaging!
A fun and engaging way to learn about nature: I confess I learned a few things too! I appreciate the range of activities, from puzzle-type activities to more craft-like projects, and especially all the ways to take learning outdoors. The workbook covers many nature-based themes to spark curiosity about various topics.

Great Book
Nature Smarts Workbook, Ages 7-9 by Massachusetts Audubon Society is a stunning educational workbook that is fun, interesting, and was truly a learning experience for my child.I highly recommend this educational workbook. My 6 year old son has always been interested in biology, animals, archeology, and geology. But his passion…are of the feathered sort…birds! We are members of the national Audubon Society and visit the Grange Center in Columbus, Ohio often. Any time we can weave together a learning experience with something he is passionate about…I am all for. This workbook has it all: educational narratives, facts, and snippets…activities with paper/pencil and hands-on activities as well.It was a wonderful few days flying through this gem. I had to hold him back from finishing it all at a faster pace.I highly recommend this series and hope there will be more to come!!!5/5 stars
