I have been using these for my humidor for a few years they work well for me and keeps the humidity level at the range indicated on the packet.

Fantastic for maintaining reloading gunpowder! It has been determined that humidity plays a major factor in both burn rate and powder weight. Powder comes from the factory around 50 -55% RH. An open can will stabilize to the ambient RH. Here in Wyoming one of my open cans was 30% RH which means is burns faster (hotter) and weighs less on the scale. So you charge more/ hotter powder per a given charge weight than factory. Studies have shown this can effect velocity (which also mean pressure) up to 200 fps! 😳 By suspending a 49% Boveda cigar humidor pack in the can ,one can bring the RH up to the factory level. The Maestro bluetooth sensor allows you to check and monitor the RH in a closed can. I made a small sack out of nylon stocking type material to keep kernels out of the sensor. This Also allows for a convenient string attachment point lowering into the kid and retrieving.

The Boveda system, also used by d'Addario, keeps my guitars happy year round. It works very well. Since the plackets are throwaway, it's more expensive than systems (like Oasis) that you refill, but is very convenient. This item is 10 tiny packs. The low price should have tipped me off, but I was surprised. "Size 8" doesn't tell you anything, but it would take several of them to add up to one of the larger packs, of which I use 2 or 3 in a guitar case. These small packs would be fine for a much smaller instrument than a guitar, like a flute.

Nice wooden musical instruments (both big and small) can crack and split if not kept within their climate tolerances. These small packets (size 8) used for small instruments like ukuleles, mandolins, etc. The packets will both absorb or disburse moisture into the air around the instrument to maintain a specific level of humidity. They are manufactured for various levels of humidity so be sure to buy the ones that fit your need. Order the pouch and the packets to use together (don't use the packets without the pouch!) I like them so much, I gave my brother pouches and packets for his ukuleles and guitars as a gift.

Customer service was excellent when we had a shipping snafu. I thank them for that! The product works well. I've used 2 other humidification products, but they were more cumbersome to use. All of them worked, however. The Boveda description is totally and completely inadequate and unclear. Saying the product is 8 grams means nothing to anyone unfamiliar with this product. The dimensions shown are for the packaging, and no dimensions are shown for the actual product. I bought a pack of 10, thinking (hoping) it was the right size for a guitar... turns out the packets were sized for a violin. We had to use them all in the guitar case to keep the humidity up in a Colorado winter. We should have had to use 2 guitar size packets to do the job. Other than a poor description, the product is good.
