Manufacturing defect broken complete
I purchased 2 pcs spending almost $1,600 after 3 months later it was completely broken. But Amazon & manufacture both of them no response about refund or replace. Just do not buy this product. I'll go-ahead complaining consumers reporting.

Great for brewing.
Excellent for brewing! Was exactly what I was looking for. This is a 240V 20amp That has Canadian eletrical safety ratings (as oppose to some of these inductive burners which have no safety ratings as far as I can tell).I’ve seen some other reviewers were confused on the plug. This system uses the standard plug for use in the United States for 240v 20amp outlets. Make sure you have the correct outlet. I recommend plugging this into a dedicated 240v 20amp circuit with AFCI and a bubble cover for spills.Unit is Stainless steel, looks very professional with a solid reostat. Timer default is 2 hours before shut off, however you can easily set it for far significantly longer on brewing day.Brings 8 gallons to boil in 72min-78min and appear to have good temperature control (although so far I have only performed dry runs with water). I’ve included a picture of my brewing room setup (without the hot liquor tank or mash tun).

Works, puts out good power, but not that nice of a unit
It works and puts out a decent amount of power. But the controls are not that friendly -- e.g. the power level resets to max each time you power off/on and when you switch to temp mode and back. It is also quite noisy. In general, not even close to how nice the Vollrath Mirage Pro is -- not only in terms of fine temp control, but in terms of general use. Will probably keep it. I do love induction and will replace my cooktop with an induction unit soon. The RW will help tie me over until then. But the Vollrath is so nice, I will keep that -- if nothing else, but to melt chocolate! (It is that fine of a temp control!) Granted the Vollrath is 1.5x the price of the professional version of the RW and 3x the price of the home version.... I guess you get what you pay for -- though I cannot imagine settling for the pro version of the RW. The home version is cheap enough that it will suffice as a stand-in.

This is a reasonably nice induction cooktop that can use up 1800 watts at 120 volts. (This may be enough to trip your circuit breaker if you have other gadgets plugged in - if not then 1800 watts will get the job done faster than a 1200 watt unit. The control to adjust the power level could allow for finer adjustment. If you still haven't tried induction cooking, you need to use a pot or pan that has some magnetic capability - i.e. a magnet needs to be able to stick to your pot. (There are "conversion plates" out there - steel discs that you insert between the pot and the cooktop. - They work but essentially destroy the speed and efficiency of the induction cooktop). Some aluminum cookware contains a steel core - so "aluminum" does not rule out the possibility that you can get a magnet to stick to the base of your pot.

This product looks very nice in the photos but it felt flimsy as hell and requires a 20 amp wall socket to use it ... fan noise was reasonable. I returned it one day after one use ..

Easily cleaned.
Powerful, replaces another brand I had that broke. This unit is durable. I can even feel the magnet working on the pan. Easily cleaned.
