I recently purchased this hoover after my Shark died. I couldn't justify the price of a new shark so looked around and found that the Vax had pretty decent reviews. Firstly, what I will say is that this hoover has amazing suction. I have kids and two dogs and it effortlessly picked up dog hair and general crumbs, etc. Assembly was simple and easy. The tools that came with it are effective and allow for a range of diffrent surfaces to be hoovered. The light at the front is handy to see any "hidden" bits and the option to clip away from the main body of the hoover is brill for stairs etc. The negatives for me are that it's pretty heavy, and doesn't self propel like the shark, which effects manoeuvrability. Something to bare in mind if you're looking for a light hoover that moves easily, this ain't it. The overall quality is alright, however the plastic feels a bit thin and flimsy in comparison to the shark. Another thing that frustrated me was the "lift away" function is a bit of a faff, nothing is one step, it's all two or three steps in order to swap, release the handle, etc , whereas the Shark is one step and your done which is preferable in my opinion. As mentioned at the beginning the suction is amazing but because you don't have the option to decrease the suction, it makes hoovering smaller mats and rugs impossible, unless you use the attachments and not the main hoover. Overall I'd say it's a pretty decent hoover for the price, with impressive suction and handy tools. However, next time I need a new hoover I think I'll be going back to the Shark for ease of use and manoeuvrability.

The first use was absolutely amazing....but every use after, took a steep decline. It's sold as a pet hoover, this might be true if you have a hamster that doesn't roam the house and leave pet hair anywhere. I on the other hand have two huskies, this vaccum is rendered useless and an absolute waste of money. It clogs with every use and you have to take it apart every time to get mild use out of it. The container blocks up so quickly before it even reaches the "max" line and you literally have to reach into the container to retrieve any dirt, fur and debris. After a month of use it just kinda rolled up the fur on the rug and left it behind. To vaccum my small house, I genuinely need to make time for it....to strip the vaccum down to clean it out as much as possible (once even taking the 12 screws out of the container to see if there was extra blockage...there wasn't, it's just that bad) then after 10 mins going round the house, you'll need to unclog it again. Even the rollers underneath block up with each use. Not for a house with pets or people with hair. It really can't handle it. 1 million percent returning to shark. Ironically the shark vacuum I had previously was second hand and still lasted 3 years before its demise. Can't really express the disappointment in this Vax vacuum.....my wife told me to try return it after a month. I wanted to give it more time...another chance...... Yet again I was wrong and she was right.

Fantastic, buy it, it's better than the Shark, pet lift away hoover and lighter. Absolute life changer, if u are with any mobility issues then this is great for you as well 👍. Very strong suction without having to push really hard to get a good hoovering..

So Both Hubby and I have used this. We had a vax previously which we liked - so went for this one. However, it’s not doing it for us unfortunately Pros Feels sturdy Strong suction Cord clip at the top Ease of removing chamber for emptying Cons Strong suction - makes the vacuum cleaner very heavy and more difficult to manoeuvre Noisy when the brush/roller are activated Chamber to remove for cleaning stairs - is not an improvement, it just remains cumbersome. The hose is just too short and anchored at the top which then causes it to fall If the hose was 50cm longer then the last issue would be unlikely to occur - it’s an easy solution Vax 🙄 How that wasn’t an issue in its testing I don’t know.
