Rainbird High Efficiency Variable Arc Nozzles 12'-15' Adjustable Radius - 25 Pack

I didn't have a good experience with adjustable nozzles before. They would lose set adjustments after a few uses, so I've been using MPR Rainbird nozzles up until now. I was looking for higher (per time) and more even precipitation nozzles, so I decided to give the HE-VAN-15 nozzles a try.My MPR-15 nozzles would give me about .15 to .20 inches of precipitation in 15 minutes (I placed multiple measuring cups to collect the data), and the HE-VAN-15, in turn, would give me about .3 to .4 inches. The HE-VAN nozzles spray at a lower angle and pressure. So these nozzles are more wind and evaporation resistant, so to speak, because more water will drop evenly in a specified area. The water stream appears more even, and one can clearly see that water droplets are larger in comparison to MPR nozzles' pattern. Since the nozzles spray at a lower angle, one has to make sure that one's grass isn't too tall at its highest level before a cut. I use mainly 6 inch pop up sprinklers to avoid this problem. Apart from the arc adjustment, the HE-VAN nozzles are distance adjustable. The ones I received were preset to the highest distance (15 ft), so one can lower the radius to 12 ft. It might seem that MPR-15 sprays farther than the HE-VAN, but the MPR appears to spray wildly, so more water is clearly wasted.I've used the HE-VAN nozzles for about 15-20 watering cycles now, and, set arc adjustments, to my relief, have not changed. Time will tell if these nozzles are as durable as the MPRs.In conclusion, I am quite satisfied with the HE-VAN nozzles, so I would recommend them.

There appears to be two variations of the blue screens that come with these heads. One is slightly skinnier than the other and fits into the pressure regulated 2 inch popup Rainbird body ( 1802 PRS ). The other does not. I'm not sure if this is a problem for the larger popups of the 1800 PRS series or not. My order contained 2 skinny filters and 23 fatter filters that didn't work for me. Weird. Had to return. Still giving five stars because this is an excellent head.

I expected these to be hard to adjust. Not so. And such a better pattern than the standard. I like that I can just buy these for all my needs—full, half, or even a quarter circle, or anything in between. No more drawer full of different nozzles.

I have a slight hill in the yard and my rotators would spray a stream further from the head that left my grass dead close to the sprinkler. I installed these sprays to illuminate that issue but it created another one. These only spray 15’ max and my sprinklers are 31’ apart. If only they made a spray head the same distance as the rotators. Just all in all a horrible designed system. Get 2hat you pay for.

Much better price than buying single units in our local store

These nozzles deliver high volumes of water efficiently with minimal water loss due to misting. They cover the area perfectly because they are easily adjustable and the spray pattern is very uniform. These are perfect and I can’t imagine using any other nozzle for my spray heads.

Water distribution great. Safe on water useage

Why would anyone use anything else? Both the spray pattern and throw are completely adjustable and most of the other ones available in the big box stores are trash in comparison. I came to Amazon for this this summer and bought probably $200 work of sprinkler retro fit sprayers, feeder lines and equipment. Changed everything over to RainBird - truly a no brainer. The only problem with these is that to adjust the throw pattern the water needs to be shut off - if not the dial just under the top of the pop up unit is very hard to turn when under pressure and I feared it might break. This requires you to station someone at the control box or shut off valve while you make the adjustment, or that you run back and forth which is not cool. Can't go wrong with price, quality and speed of delivery here at Azon. .
