Brylcreem Hair Cream for Styling, Strengthening

Bought this for a teenager who was struggling with her hair, but didn’t end up using it. As a 60+ year-old grandma I always have flyaways and my hair just looks gray and spiky. This product allowed me to flatten fly away hair on the top of my head, smooth it and it stayed soft feeling. It’s a great quality. There’s a lot of product there for the price. I like the smell, which is mild but pleasant. I have stolen it!

Most important notes: - I use a pea-sized amount of it every day that I style my hair into a side part quiff. Just use a bit of heat and your hair will survive the apocalypse, so long as you got a pocket comb on hand. You may need to recomb it once or twice if it's windy. If you lean towards less product in your hair like I do, you will get a flexible hold with a healthy-looking shine; more of it will make it very quite glossy. It'll also bring out your natural waves if you have that kind of hair. - It has a very... "standard" scent to it, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It actually smells pretty good, but it's nothing special. Who buys a hair product for the smell anyway? - Remember what I said earlier about that softness? It's there all right. Can run your fingers straight through your hair and it'll feel pretty silky with the right amount of this stuff in it! Well, unless you plan on putting a lot; then it will take on a more wet and oily texture.

Me and my husband have been using potion 9. My husband went to reorder it and commented on the price and mentioned there were cheaper options. I was hesitant to try anything new. First off it is not unscented as the listing claims. Smells like hand lotion, neither feminine or masculine. Scent is not strong, I don't love it but it is not a deal breaker. In the days leading up to my purchase we had run out and we were not using anything. When I put my hair in a ponytail I have lots of frizzy curls popping up making my hair look messy. I have used it twice now and it totally smoothes my hair leaving a sleak slicked back ponytail not too heavy, not oily or greasy. It does not dry flaky or with any visible residue. Leaves my hair soft. For the most part I do not prefer to use any products because I feel like it makes my hair look dirt or greasy. This product was a win for me. My husband colors his hair it is thinning and quite dry. He is not raving about this product but it does serve it's purpose leaving his hair soft and in place. We are both using this product very differently. He puts a small amount all through his hair and then styles it. I just put a dab to slick back my ponytail.

Smells pretty old school, but the kind of smell you would like or tolerate lol. I wouldn't say it's a styling cream, but it's a nice nice addition to add to your styling gel! Gives nice volume when you do that. And a nice shine! So it's more like a shining cream lol! Your gel is going to make your hair look like a dry wet dangly thingy, but this will add the shine it won't! Plus adds to the masculine build up, scent wise...

I use this almost daily. Holds my hair in place all day. Does not dry out or stiffen the hair.

Great, old school product for holding the hair with just a tiny bit of sheen and moisture kind of like a jail or mousse but it doesn’t get crispy

The hold and shine are perfect, if you don't want something like a gel that makes your hair stiff and brittle this is great. It's also less greasy looking than something like a pomade. I know the product says "high shine" but I would say it has more of a medium shine which I prefer, especially once your hair is dry. It really does condition your hair like it says, my hair was very soft after a couple hours. The price for this is better than anything else I could find, usually a hair cream like this would be $20 and that's with less product included. I also like how this is in a tube which I find way more convenient and practical than a jar. Only thing I can think to complain about is the scent and it's not even bad, it still smells great but it's more like a minty medicinal scent if that makes sense. The product I used before is Cantu's "moisturizing Curl Activator Cream" and I liked the smell of that more but it doesn't hold very long. With that being said this product still smells good so it's definitely not a deal breaker for me. I'll keep buying this and I recommend it to anyone that wants the same qualities I mentioned above.

I used Groom and Clean, but it is no longer available. Apparently it could be used as an ingredient in a bomb. This works just as well.
