This seemed a good price since I had to buy two (myself and my son). Our karate school started requiring these. First time in 30 years I’ve had to wear chest protection.Well worth it! They’re very lightweight and comfortable. The padding is stiff and thin. It’s not restrictive at all; I’m moving just the same as I always have. Despite all that, it absorbs and disperses blows quite nicely.If there’s any complaint, it’s that it’s hot. You definitely notice after a few rounds of sparring. However, there’s probably no way around that, and it could be that this one is actually cooler than others since I have no other frame of reference.

It protects me from my punchers even more than I thought it would, and it does so well, at a great price.

I train martial arts and equipment like this is needed sometimes for sparring. I've tried many different chest protectors and I find most are bulky and restrict movement so the sparring tends to be less realistic which sucks. This chest protector offers protection but a low profile which makes it seem much more unnoticeable since I don't find my movement as restricted which makes it the best I've ever used. If you are in the market, get this one.

Does the job as expected, and protects the body well. Watch the sizing, as warned about in other reviews.We ordered an XL for an adult male (175 lbs, 6'0", approx. 34" waist). It fits correctly, after adjusting where the horizontal straps run through the vertical loop, although it is a cut a little low around the upper ribs. We may have been better to go with a large.Movement is slightly restricted, so it takes some practice to move the way you'd expect in this. Again, that is not unexpected and the armor is strong enough that force from blows is substantially reduced.Have not tried this for heavy, full-contact, but took a few serious hits while participating in a karate tournament with an existing rib injury, and it performed exceedingly well.

Given that this is such a great price, I thought it would be a cheaper quality as well. The Wesing products on their own site look different and cost a lot more, so I suppose this is simply an older model and that must be where the savings come from. Very well made. Needed this for Sanda training. Feels like it’s going to hold up through plenty of sparring for years to come.

Someone mentioned in the reviews before that this chest protector is not for someone who hasn’t conditioned their body as it doesn’t offer *a lot* of protection, and that is true. However! I very much enjoy this chest protector as it’s light weight but hard. I never liked the big and bulky ones, I need to be able to move light on my feet and I believe it keeps me well protected, but I’ve been sparring for years and I’m fairly conditioned. I think it runs quite small in size, though. I’m usually a small in chest protectors but in this one I’m a medium and it fit me perfectly, not at all loose but you can adjust it in the back. I’m a five foot tall female, roughly 150 pounds with a small torso. Hope this helps!

Works perfect for my use case. I only do low power technical sparring these days. Just wanted something to protect my ribs a little when injured. Also great protection for those accidental harder strike with the heel, ball of foot, knee, ... if you don't mind feeling some of the impact

This is a good product. Super strong, sturdy. The problem is that I think this will only fit a short person, even on the 2XL size. I am tall and to get it to even sort of cover the ab area, you have to pull it way down. Then you lose and chest protection and the back really rides on your neck. I tried every which way to get this to work, because I really like it, but I had to return it. The torso needs to be longer and the neck piece in the back needs to be different.
