Lots of good info even for intermediate and advanced students
My guitar teacher sent some of his beginning students to me, and when I lost the first Noad book he ever recommended to me (in a wildfire), I tried to replace it with this volume. It was the wrong book, but I still learned new things about technique that I'd never known before.

a good supplement
I wouldn't use this for any age level as a primary guitar method. Skips too many essential pedagogical steps. However, it includes a great deal of useful information for intermediate guitar students. For example, it includes Giuliani's wonderful right-hand arpeggio studies. Noad gives interesting insights into interpretation and technique. The book also includes a number of excellent solos for the intermediate-advanced student. The book is well printed and easy to read. So, I recommend it and use it a lot, but just don't think that it's a good guitar method for students.

very good book, but its better to buy book 1 too
Very good book for intermediate guitarist (NOT FOR BEGINNERS, please take count of it), even though its convenient to buy the book 1 also (in fact I did it), above all if you are studying chapter-by-chapter. If you are a experimented guitar player, you will find good music pieces, specially those at the last chapter (two masterpieces) and the most important, you will find key recomendations from the author to play them very well.I think those contents is enought to give you a good idea of what you can do and how far you can go in the beatifull realm of classical guitar.

This study is a must to master your skills as a guitarist!
This study by Frederick Noad is a must for every serious guitarist! I learned to play guitar in 1973 and it was Noad's Volume 1 I learned the guitar and mastered it! I was thrilled to get Volume 2 to continue my skills!

A continuance to a great book
Great book! I use this in conjunction with book 1 to teach my classical guitar students. I have my intermediate students purchase this for our studies.

The biographical and musicological anecdotes on composers and pieces is a nice touch.
Building on the foundation laid in Book #1, this one can take the beginner-intermediate or intermediate player to advanced-intermediate stages of ability and technique. The repertoire contained in the book is diverse covering renaissance, baroque, classical, and romantic periods with detailed performance notes related to interpretation and style. The biographical and musicological anecdotes on composers and pieces is a nice touch.

Noad is the best.
A very advanced book, so far so good and a pleasure to work with. The first volume has been my main method for classical guitar, and while I am still trying to perfect the last few chapters of Volume 1 ,this book is great to push ahead. One thing to note is that Noad has extremely high quality arrangements.
