Columbia Men's Roan Mountain Jacket, Waterproof, Hooded

Purchased this Columbia Men's Roan Mountain Jacket, Waterproof, Hooded for my 6' 2", 225 lb son to wear for the cool evenings. It fit him perfectly and is long enough for his long torso and arms. He probably won't have too much need for stopping rain, but the hood does come up and there is a bill that comes over the forehead to prevent the rain from hitting his face and glasses. You can also tighten some cords to pull the hood closer around the face and over the mouth area. The sleeves have Velcro straps to allow you to tighten them at the hem to go over gloves and keep the rain from getting between them on your arms. It looks good on him and he was very happy with the blue/black coloring. I am very pleased with this purchased and the small cost for a quality product.

The media could not be loaded. I almost didn’t purchase this jacket as a few of the reviews said they got soaked in a downpour. First thing I did was put it under the tap in the sink. See the attached Video, I put paper inside the sleeve and ran water on the sleeve, paper did not get wet. Seems like it will work just fine!I liked that it’s very lightweight, the material is not like a rubber jacket for sure, wasn’t expecting that either. I mention this as I’m sure it won’t hold in body heat well for those that get cold easily. The size/fit is ‘roomy’ enough for a sweater or other heavier garment to be worn under it.I got the large, I’m 5’10 180lbs and I got a large. Overall I’m happy with the fit.

It really is waterproof. I bought this to use when I went on a field trip with a professor who has a reputation of having the misfortune of it always raining when he goes into the field. It poured on our trip and we were next to the ocean. Even with the rain and the waves, I stayed dry. It also dries pretty quickly. It doesn't get saturated with rain like some other jackets. It's very lightweight so it's great to use when it's warm out and it folds up pretty small to keep in a bag when you're not wearing it. I've also used it when it was cold out as a windbreaker and put multiple layers underneath. The pockets zip which is nice to keep my phone dry. The pockets are mesh inside which lets your body breath. Its an awesome jacket and I've used in all kinds of rain and it always keep me dry.

Fits Beautifully. I have recommended this jacket to multiple other people because of the price and the fit. The Roan Mountain Jacket is extremely comfortable and doesn't make too much noise when moving around. It also comes with two pockets on the front and a hood. The only negative side of the jacket is that it is very light. I love the lightness of it, but at the same time if the breeze is very cold, you will wish for a better insulated jacket. For the price, I think it is justifiable. I have received multiple compliments on it also.

This was an impulse buy just days before we left for a trip to Scotland, and this jacket was perfect! It repelled the light misty rain the whole trip, keeping me dry underneath. Git was great for me, I chose a small, and I am 5’ 10” and about 155lbs. The adjustable wrists were nice to keep the water out, and the hood stays on very well in high winds. Excellent jacket for the price!

I moved from the East coast to Seattle, and one thing I needed to adjust to is that all my jackets were too thick and not rainproof enough for Seattle weather! This fits the bill very nicely, and since I got it in the off-season I got a fantastic value for it (much cheaper than I would’ve gotten in store!)

I ordered a larger size expecting having heavy clothes under it. Jacket fit just fine that way. Kept me dry all day fishing in 40 degree rainy weather. It has 2 outer zippered pockets, but no pockets inside to keep things dry. This is Not a heavy duty foul weather jacket, and would not last doing hard work in it.
