Bosch Cordless Garden Saw Keo (1 Battery 2.0 Ah, 18 Volt System, Cutting Diameter 80 mm, with Swiss Precision Blade Wood Included, in Carton Packaging)

First time using this today doing heavy pruning on a Leilandi hedge, a big job made much easier thanks to this guy. I used the Bosch Green Wood 5 TPI blade (the included blade isn't suitable for live wood), and that also worked really well, cutting through up to 70mm of knotty, gnarled coniferous boughs. The tool is well-balanced, and can be operated one-handed which is useful when working from a ladder. There is a bit of a learning curve to getting the best out of it, and the cuts are rougher than you'd get with a hand saw, but oh the time savings - I shifted 300kg of topiary today! Having a long (240mm) blade is really useful for reaching in to the hedge, and with practice you can get some really accurate cuts in awkward positions that you couldn't do with another type of saw. The tool would be improved with a wrist strap or lanyard (I just tied a lanyard to the handle), and as it's got a permanently exposed blade I'd recommend protecting eyes and skin while using it. This tool won't replace a chainsaw or a hedge trimmer, but it's a useful addition and with a finer blade I can see it being useful for joinery and plumbing as well.

The KEO garden saw performs very well though it would seem from the instructions that it is intended to be held in one hand. I found it far more comfortable and easier to use by applying downward pressure from the top surface. I really only have two niggles which prevents me from giving the item the full 5 stars. 1. When I got the saw and charged it up ready for use, it only runs very slowly. I was convinced at first that the on off switch was faulty and indeed almost returned the item. However, trying it out, I discovered that the sawing speed increases dramatically as pressure is applied to the branch being cut. It would seem that this is a deliberate function, but it would have been helpful if there was some mention of this in the instructions. Indeed I only failed to return it after looking on the internet and seeing other comments about this and so decided to try it. Rest assured, it does work and works well. 2. My other niggle is the fact that the safety switch, which has to be pushed in either direction to allow the main trigger switch to work, is hard to operate with one hand. Again two handed operation seems to be required. Maybe it depends on the size of your hand. Once started, the amount of pressure required on the trigger switch is more than I would like. I'm a 73 year old male, not exactly weak, but found the trigger very heavy. Despite these comments, the saw appears to be well made, does what it's supposed to do and does it well giving a good clean cut. The mechanism for changing blades is easy to use. I have no significant concerns with it and feel that I now have a very useful tool for garden use. Bearing the above comments in mind, I am still happy to recommend this item.

Excellent item, previously spending 15 mins on one tree branch is now done in seconds. I trimmed a large section of trees down within the hour and these hadn't been done for well over 10 years. The wireless power allows me not to get stuck in a large amount of cabling as being powered battery (the only part was I don't know if the battery pack can be replaced as it is encased in rubber at the back of the tool, it maybe replaceable but I haven't found out if so.), yes this did run out of juice, after 1 hour and half continuous use the power indicator was implying it was at a low level. Don't get me wrong it won't be a tool to clear your garden full of 20 trees, this tool is for general trimming and cutting of wood for DIY. Great alternative instead of using the hand saw, in regards to the blade condition after cutting 3-4 different types of tree's it seems to be still in good condition for next time use. I will be purchasing some extra blades in the future though. Using the tool is simple and the setup for switching the saw blade is great, no looking for allen keys like other power tools. The branch grabbing/support tool is good feature as it keep the saw stable and accurate.

This is a new purchase so I haven't used it exhaustively yet. However I have used it to prune some neglected shrub roses, a task that with a manual saw would have been very difficult because of access to the branches that needed to be cut, with great ease and success. There are more to do! The saw seems well constructed and durable; charges rapidly (empty to full is around three hours). I haven't used it to exhaustion yet so am not sure of the working life of one charge. I have yet to master a comfortable hand grip since one needs to release a safety catch with thumb or forefinger and simultaneously depress the trigger. The safety catch can be released once running. The speed of the reciprical action can be controlled by the degree to which the trigger is depressed but I guess most users will use it "full speed ahead". The "A" attachment is used to hold a branch allowing one-handed use. It works fine but there is a knack needed to remove and replace the attachment (this is shown diagramatically in the literature supplied). I still have eight fingers and two thumbs. Safety is emphasised in the literature. Wearing sturdy gloves, and ideally eye protection, is recommended but the most important thing to remember is to keep BOTH hands away from the blade. Develop a one handed technique and do not use you other hand to steady the workpiece or to apply extra pressure. So far I am very pleased with this purchase. I have only used the blade supplied but one can purchase blades for metal or a sabretoothed blade for garden use,although the blade supplied cuts green wood satisfactorily. The blade is only about 15 cm long so don't expect to be able to attack a forest tree! Leave that to the tree surgeons!

Ho acquistato KEO avendo necessità di un seghetto leggero, ma sufficientemente potente ed efficace. Maneggevole, leggero e abbastanza potente, Keo ha soddisfatto le mie esigenze, particolarmente con il set di lame che ne consentono l'uso su materiali differenti, aumentandone la versatilità. Auspicabile che il caricabatteria sia dotato di presa europea o italiana: ho avuto qualche problema a trovare l'adattatore!

Ho un solo rimpianto: non averlo acquistato prima! È potente, efficace con una batteria da 18V 2,5Ah non pesa molto, si impugna bene e ha un’ottima autonomia, mi permette di potare e aggiustare le piante come voglio con una facilità incredibile.
