Still TOASTMASTER
Good toaster. Heavy construction. Insulation saves you from melting bread wrappers to the outside when in-use. Ample openings for most toastable products, Pop 'Ems to thicker bagels, and it has an additional 'bagel' setting that extends the toast time just a bit. 1st Toaster I knew in the 50s was a Toastmaster and the tradition goes on.

Simply Toasted!
I just needed a simple toaster to fit bread and bagels in. Well, I definitely got what I wanted. It is super simple and very light weight. Not like grandma's toaster. This thing has worked great so far and I absolutely love having a regular toaster again - as opposed to the toaster "oven" I never liked. And I love how it doesn't take up much room on my counters. The only reason I took away a star is because I feel it doesn't pop your bread up high enough. I love Pepperidge Farm's raisin toast and when it's done toasting, the popup feature doesn't get the bread to come out of the slots. I have to lift them out with my fingers or a knife. But not all bread slices are that tiny. Any other bread and it will be just fine. I guess if they made it pop up more, some bread would simply fall out onto your counter. So, I'll take it this way!

Makes good toast, without fuss
Nice wide slots, which means I don't have to toast my bagel under the broiler anymore. The pop up should go just a little higher for English muffins, but this is fine for everything else. Since the slots are wide, it's not hard to get the English muffins out, either. I love the bagel setting, which just toasts one side; haven't used the reheat setting yet. There's a slight hot-spot on each slot, but it doesn't really burn. It's just slightly browner in that one small spot.

Disappointed Customer
Now that i have had a chance to use this item, i hate it!! Cheaply made. You have to press the toaster button down several times before the toaster starts. It does not toast an english muffin on regular or high temperature, so i put it on bagel, it did not toast to the level i wanted it to. It was not fully toasted even after 2 tries. I wish i had never purchased it. It is definitely not of the same caliber as my old Toastmaster which i had for 20 years, it worked perfectly. This one is one is terrible. I would return it, but i have used it. When are we ever going to have a toaster manufactured in the USA and stop getting these poorly made items from China? I have looked for a toaster made in the USA, but i could not find one. I only bought this pne because my other died after 20+ years. I don't even want to givr this thing 1 star. The price does not fit this toaster.PTurner

The control dial
Doesn't stay in place - you look at it and it moves. They should have put some kind of notch to lock in place on the setting you want to toast at. I keep having to re-heat and then find its due to the knob moving so easily when you move the toaster. Am hoping this doesn't last as long as my other Toastmaster lasted - I guess here's another manufactured item that once was great but now is not so. I hope we get American made products in great abundance once again - all this nonsense with poorly made things and we're all supposed to accept this as the way it is. No wonder the old things were made better - they were made in the USA.

Nice, Simple Toaster
A nice, simple toaster. I like it more than the same brand model I used for more than twenty years! It even has the same cute logo. I like the way the tray removes from below, to empty away crumbs easily, and the special "lift" feature, to prevent burning fingers! Also, the bagel setting is a nice plus, as well as the cancel feature. I don't know if we'll get another twenty years of service, but it looks strong, and we like how it looks and works!

but ultimately extremely disappointed in the performance
It is cheaply manufactured and toasts bread, English muffins, bagels all very unevenly. I was originally thrilled to find a toaster that was rated so highly that was priced very well; but ultimately extremely disappointed in the performance. Perhaps I received an "escape" from quality processes that are common in manufacturing...regardless my recommendation is against purchasing this toaster. I've already purchase a mother model that performs much better.

Repeat buyer!
Consistent toasting for various settings. Durable and long lasting. Not only is this my second one but it was a special request from my son when he moved out...he wanted the exact same toaster for his house!
