Great tank printer
So glad i bought Epson! Medium skillset for setup but man im glad i ditched my other brand. This is a great printer and affordable to print. No more cardriges to buy, no more scammy expiration dates on ink. So far, it prints fast enough for me. Im fine with document quality. I do not think this would print photos well but it prints school stuff just fine. A little on the loud side but im happy. Shipping came quick and overall i have no complaints. I wish it was cheaper, id say in the $150 range would be good. Wireless works good but its a bit slow on scanning.

This thing can hold some ink
bought the Epson EcoTank ET-4800 after getting tired of constantly buying overpriced ink cartridges for my old printer. After doing a bit of research, the idea of refillable ink tanks really appealed to me—and I’m honestly glad I made the switch. Setup was pretty easy, even for someone who’s not super tech-savvy. The instructions were clear, and filling the ink tanks was way less messy than I expected. It even came with enough ink to last me months (maybe longer), which already makes it feel like a smart investment. I use this mostly for work-from-home tasks and occasional school stuff for the kids. The print quality is crisp for both black and white and color documents. I’ve printed everything from reports to coloring pages and even some photos—it’s not professional photo quality, but more than good enough for home use. Things I really like: Super affordable to run. Haven’t had to think about buying ink since I got it. All-in-one convenience. Scanning and copying are a breeze, especially with the automatic document feeder. Wireless printing. I can print from my laptop or even my phone, which has been really handy. A few drawbacks: It doesn’t do automatic double-sided printing—you have to flip the pages yourself. It’s not the fastest printer, especially if you’re printing a lot of color pages. The build is pretty lightweight plastic, so it doesn’t feel ultra-premium—but it gets the job done. All in all, it’s been a reliable and budget-friendly addition to my home office. If you're someone who prints regularly and wants to avoid the cartridge money pit, I’d definitely recommend giving the ET-4800 a try.

Epson ET-4800 is a piece of junk!!
This printer is HORRIBLE!!! I've owned it for 60 days, 30 days past the return period, and the more I use it, the worse the printer quality is ... so now I'm stuck as AI says Epson will not accept returns based on a manufacturing defect when purchased through an Amazon seller! Thirty days (per the Amazon seller policy) was simply not enough time to properly learn/test the machine. I'm having two major issues and have two machine design complaints. First the design complaints. (1) The 1" x 1" display window is way too small and requires too many clicks to get anything done. PLUS, when you are done setting/changing the settings, the "OK" button is supposed to signify being done but it just repeats itself over and over. It never actually seems to accept the setting. It beeps "Invalid" with nearly everything I try to do!! (2) The machine is advertised as having "two-sided" copying capability ... but it's MANUAL!! You have to manually refeed the paper through and reinstruct the printer to print on the back side. Given that situation, ANY PRINTER could advertise two-sided copying!! Here are the two manufacturer defaults I'm dealing with. I wasted over an hour on the phone with Epson support to try to fix them both, but she was worthless. She was reading from a manual trying to figure it out herself!! She clearly had no idea what she was doing so I eventually just hung up. (1) From the very beginning using this printer, I noticed very faint white lines on all pages printed/copied and tried to fix it through the machines "Maintenance" check. Not only could I not get it fixed with a Nozzle Check or Print Head Alignment, but the white lines just keep getting thicker and thicker! They're so thick now I couldn't possibly use anything it prints! (Note: A salesperson at Staples said it probably has a defective roller) (2) The machine also has some kind of glitch that we can't clear after changing the settings to print 5" x 7" envelopes. I've changed the paper source/type settings back to "Letter" and "Plain Paper" but it still won't print without forcing me to work around the glitch. I get an error message that says "Printing is suspended due to paper mismatch." The Epson support tech tried to tell me it's because I'm feeding the paper in wrong!! THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY TO FEED THE PAPER!! What was she talking about??!! I'm so frustrated that we wasted our hard-earned money on this piece of junk (potentially a non-disclosed refurbished unit by the seller) ... and now I have to spend EVEN MORE money buying a new printer!!

J’aurais aimer qu’elle imprime recto et verso, mais je n’avais pas porter attention. Sinon elle est très bonne et n’étais pas difficile à monter.

It prints out images so clearly, and it barely uses any ink. I’ve printed tons of stuff for my school year, and I still haven’t refilled the tank. It was a great purchase.

I purchased this printer to replace a HP inkjet printer. I thought that the mega tank and other features would satisfy my needs. I liked the mega tank feature, I wouldn’t have to be replacing ink cartridges like the HP printer. What I didn’t like about the Epson ET 4800 printer was the lack of duplex printing and scanning to email or memory stick (usb), features that should be standard on all printers by now.

This was the most complicated setup procedure I've ever experienced with an all-in-one printer/scanner/fax. Of course, who uses fax any more? The computer could not find the printer, so I had to use the tiny LCD screen on the printer to identify the wifi network and then manually enter the long Bell password. Instructions were sadly lacking for this procedure. Filling the ink tanks was easy; the bottles are self-emptying, but the magenta bottle dribbed some ink after being removed from the ink tank. We wanted an ink-tank printer because ink cartridges hold a ridiculous small amount of ink and are very expensive. Setting up the second laptop was much, much easier. The printer feels flimsy, but it feeds the paper OK and the print quality is outstanding. So if you can get past the complicated setup procedure, this printer should serve you well.
