Q: can you use this product to adhere silicone to a hard plastic like acrylic?

if the acrylic is cleaned well with isoproypl alcohol and lightly sanded, it will adhere.

Q: wil this work on diesel holding tank? will diesel melt it?

This is resistant to oils and chemicals once it is cured, but I worry that it may have problems adhering to the oily surface of the tank.

Q: Is it truly gray? The product info specs say its clear, and I need gray only.

It is gray. I've been using this Dow Corning product for years. It carries a military part number: MIL-A-46146 and has been very consistent. It has an excellent useable shelf life, and does not have a vinegar smell to it like many silicone products. I use it primarily to hold large electronic parts in place on printed circuit boards.

Q: I’m gluing stained glass mosaic to clear glass and placing near heat. I’ll use clear product. Will the clear turn yellow over time?

The 3145 grey RTV is not clear. It comes out and dries grey. However, it will not change color over-time.
