This cover is thick neoprene with a Velcro closure. Inside has the silicone heat pad, which you can remove to use on countertop, but also place inside as extra padding for iron. Works well.

Every time my wife and I go on a trip, she has to bring her hair curling iron. She always has a problem finding a suitable place to sit the thing so that it doesn't burn anything. She used to have a small fabric sleeve to put the iron into, but she has misplaced that. So when I saw this product, I knew it was the perfect solution to both issues. Now she can set the hot iron down on the silicone sleeve and when she's done with her hair, she can put her curling iron into the silicone sleeve, and then into the outer case. The case comes in many different patterns and colors, so it's easy to find one you like. My only complaint is that the silicone sleeve is an extremely tight fit into the outer sleeve. If the outer sleeve were just a bit wider, this product would be perfect. Great idea and great product, obviously the idea came from a woman. You'll love it.

When at the gym and trying to hurry to get to work after getting ready, I can throw my hair straightener right into the silicon protectors and immediately into the case without letting it cool and be on my way. I love that there is an additional pocket for a comb or hair ties or Bobby pins.

Cute case and a very nice heat resistant mat to set the flat iron on while using it. The iron can then be put into the mat and all of it fits into the case. Great Item!

Great gift

This curling iron travel case comes with the case and a silicone/rubber heat pad. It is quite roomy and could probably fit larger barreled curling irons. The case itself is made of neoprene, which does protect against heat damage, but it is not heat resistant (I’ve had cases before that the outside is heat resistant so that heat was not felt on the outside of the case). The pad does not fit into the case, and it smelled rather strongly of rubber (think tires). Overall, it’s a good value for the price, but for travel, I would not trust this case with a hot iron in a suitcase.
