I am an adult. Took 1/4 dose (straight from pumper into mouth, undiluted or mixed). This product contains citric acid. Had horrible burning in stomach for hours, accompanied by nausea despite trying food, water and antacids to calm it down. Was still burning in the morning when I woke up, but at least I was able to sleep. Not sure how a child could handle this, especially a full dose.

I really like this lactoferrin so far. This product comes in a nice little box. The dropper top is separate from the bottle itself and has a plastic cover over it that must be unscrewed before placing it into the bottle. If you're me, you will forget to take the cover off and lactoferrin extract will spill all over the place, lol. This is a large, 2oz bottle and contains a 30 day supply of product (2mL = 20mg daily). This supplement is geared towards children. The only ingredients are lactoferrin, water, glycerin, citric acid and potassium sorbate. As a newer formulator myself, I understand the necessity of a preservative in a product such as this especially with a milk-based ingredient for kids. This active ingredient acts as an important nutrient through all stages of life and is beneficial to immunity and many other systems within the body. It is found is higher amounts in the first milk, colostrum, because of its health boosting effects on mammalian infants. I keep this in my vitamin cabinet for colds/flu-like symptoms as well as stomach aches. I am also planning on using some of this extract in a few of my skincare recipes. It also has benefits when applied directly to the skin. This was the first supplement I found that was only lactoferrin in liquid form, on its own without other additives. Most are in capsule form which kids will not be able to take successfully.

I got it keep on hand for when anyone in the family gets sick, but, knock on wood, we are all healthy so far! I know that lactoferrin boosts iron in addition to immunity so I may try it for that. However, since it's from overseas with no guarantee of the ingredients, I may first do more research into the company.

When giving something to your children this is very important. I also like that you can take this directly or can add it to water, milk, or juice. This supplement helps with iron absorption and your child’s immune system. The ingredients are globally sourced. I looked up the company Meganutra, Inc and it is in Massachusetts. There are also other manufacturing places for this company in the United States. Not sure why this is not mentioned but that is also important. I would recommend this product.

This product smelled like spoiled butter. It tastes even worse. I tried it one time, and will never take it again. I’m not impressed with this product. It’s absolutely disgusting.

This is great as it is easy to give to kids. One thing to note is that the dropper comes with a cover that has to be taken off and thrown away. This unscrews easily but I saw one reviewer was complaining the strange large dropper didn't work - thats the cover, take it off and the dropper works. I noticed the lactoferrin seems to aid digestion so I think it is a good product. Can't really say what it does for immunity... hard to test that one.
