Should be a standard that plastic ones dont exist. Easily assembled and solid.

Plastic base on an office chair broke where the castor is fitted. This new metal base was easy to fit and replaced the plastic one and is much more sturdy.

I had a plastic chair base before which had cracked and the gas canister had slipped through and scratched the floor. This metal replacement is excellent. It was so easy to put together but I did need to tighten up the screws a few days later as it was making a funny noise but they've stayed tight since.

I was expecting a one piece item like a cast aluminium chair base I've had before, this is not that, it is a central hub that you attach tubular steel legs onto with some hex screws. Initial thoughts were that it looks pretty flimsy and naff. But to be fair, once assembled it seems sturdy, does the job fine and since it's below me I don't really have to look at it. I threw away the chromed plastic cover for the hub as it looks better without it! Gas piston fitted right in, old castors fit fine (and it now rolls much more smoothly somehow). Some of the legs were scuffed straight out of the box, but again, don't have to look at it. Assembly was straightforward, took 5-10 minutes. Getting my old chair out of it's broken base on the other hand, took serious effort, with WD40, 2 mallets, a Black and Decker workmate, and finally resorting to a saw and axe.... So by comparison, assembling and fitting this replacement base was the easiest part of the whole process and I really appreciated that.Overall, cheap but does the job.

Very sturdy and easy to put together, makes my chair a bit higher than the original but that good.The wheel slots are metal so should last longer than plastic.

Built it easily enough, very sturdy materials and the wheels are excellent. However after less than a week of regular use the gas lift has failed completely.

This was purchased as a replacement to a failed plastic stand, very easy to assemble and is more robust than the original base, fitted the chair perfectly and castors transferred easily. Vey happy with the result and price

I really love my comfy fabric office chair, so when I sat on it and one of the wheels broke off I was devastated. I was so happy when I saw they had this product on Amazon. It was a bit tough to get the old one off my chair, but with a couple of YouTube videos and a large pipe wrench, it eventually came off. Installing this new one was a breeze and it looks great. The wheels roll nicely on the wood floor and I like the colour better than the original one that came with the chair. Only thing is, I think it's a bit expensive. My husband just bought a whole new chair for the same price. But replacing my chair would have been a lot more so I'm glad it could be fixed.

So my gaming chair's base cracked and it slide the piston all the way to the floor. I needed a placement, for just the base and piston. It is exactly how it is described in product's link: metal spoke base, rubber wheels. The wheels were a nice touch. Easy to assemble, with the hardest being getting the pieces from the old chair removed from the broken base. The whole process outside removing the parts, was probably a whole ten minutes. It rolls smoothly across the hardwood floor, the piston actually works now, I have greater height and I am overall pleased with the product. If you have a few simple tools in the house, this base assembly makes a great replacement for those chairs who's base and piston have seen better days.

Our chair broke after only a few months. One of the legs snapped off tossing my husband on the floor. He's a disabled vet so this didn't go well. This fit perfectly and obviously stronger and better built. Sits a little higher too on our chair. Better than spending another $200 on a chair.

item received as per advertised & the chair base looks sturdy & well built...pretty much the kind of material me am looking for...hope it can outlast the default chair base which was not the metal type...easy to fix & install...overall am truly satisfied with the purchase...great pricing & highly recommended!!!
