It's just gear/transmission oil. OEM like this product is usually superior quality.

This stuff is the new transmission fluid for all Nissan/Infiniti cars, and it's a direct replacement fluid for the older J-Matic fluid. Yes, they are compatible and can be mixed together, so don't worry about having to drain out every last drop of the old stuff. However, I do want to point out that if you a regular drain & refill you're only actually draining about 1/3 of the fluid which is in the pain while the rest of it remains up in the trans or in the fluid cooler lines. So if you want to replace as much of the old fluid as possible you had 2 options: 1. You can drain the fluid directly from the trans cooler return line, while simultaneously replacing fluid through the trans dipstick tube. That can be a messy PITA, but it's the only way to ensure you replace as much as the fluid as possible.Or go to the dealership and pay $350+. No thanks! 2. You can drain the pan and replace the same quantity of fluid that you drained out, then drive around for a while to mix the remaining fluids together. Then do it again and drive around for a while, then one more time, so a total of 3 times. Using this method will replace about 75% of the old stuff with the new S-Matic, and that should be good enough. I just did a trans drain & refill on a G35 using this method and everything went smoothly.
