Does not pour well.
For starters, I have MANY Soto products, and I find them all excellent. After having great success with the Thermostack when camping solo, I thought purchasing the Navigator cookset for family camping would be a no-brainer.Knowing that this set would have the same issue as the Thermostack (the lids, being plastic, will melt if you don't use a slow heat) that wasn't really a problem for me. I'm okay with the efficiency loss of boiling without the lid on.What was a problem was that it's almost impossible to pour from either pot. I'm not looking for laminar flow, or a goose-neck kettle performance.... just the ability to get water into a mug or bowl without making a huge mess. I tried several times, over a 5 day camping trip, and was never able to successfully do that.I have many, many pots...from stainless steel billy pots, to titanium mugs.... and these two are by far the worst to pour from. The water dribbles down the side of the pot, no matter how much is in it, and at what speed you attempt to pour. This might not be a problem for some; for me, being the only pots I take, they need to also be able to distribute hot water into other vessels. Without a ladle or the like, it is very frustrating to do this.Everything else about these pots is great (the gripper, the strainers in the lids, the anodized finish, the cozy).... except the tabs on the lids...they suck.Unfortunately, this is the first Soto product that I do not recommend.

Good cookset for camping
I bought this to replace a nearly 30-year old stainless steel set. It's a nice set. It's quite a bit lighter. I cooked bacon and a couple of poached eggs in the 2 pans on a MSR Whisperlite last weekend. It cooked quickly. The bacon caught and stuck a little, but the pan came clean very easily. Because the pans are quite light and thin, I would be concerned about burning and sticking if I were cooking anything without lots of liquid. I think it's probably necessary to keep stirring all the time. The design is good - I was particularly looking for a clipping handle rather than the flimsy-looking fold-out wire handles. It felt very stable even with the pan full of water. The clipping handle is spring-loaded so it's a very positive action. The lids look as though they will work well to strain pasta etc. I was initially a bit sceptical about the insulation for the smaller pan, but it prevents rattles and I think it would also work well for example to keep sauce hot while you cook pasta or rice. Overall a good set.
