these pads worked for me
great product, I have a High arch on my right foot that caused me a lot of pain when walking or hiking long distances, these pads are helping me a lot, no trimming was necessary in my case. I removed the shoe insole and attached the pad inside the shoe then I place the insole back. I have never tried sticking it to my foot.

Update: seem to be helping
Update: These do seem to be helping support my arches and relieving pain. Put them on the underneath arch side of the regular shoe inserts and used cloth tape to attach.Just got these today for my athletic shoes which came with removable insert providing a little arch support but not enough. Not sure if these should be placed underneath the shoe insert or on top. Neither really feels right nor does placing them into the shoe and not using the replaceable shoe insert. The answers to a question in the Q & A is why I’m confused. One answer states that her podiatrist attached these to the underside of her shoes inserts but no other reviewers say this nor does the product description although one reviewer photo looks like it was placed underneath the removable shoe insert. You’d think a podiatrist would know best but you never know.

Not soft and needs tweaking.
After reading reviews I decided to try these because I need some arch support but because I have a fairly flat foot too much arch support “pokes” in that area, which is the issue I have with a lot of the arches you can add to a shoe (and also with sandals like Birkenstock). Even though the picture shows attaching to the foot, I know it could be added to a shoe instead. I thought these looked different and maybe a bit softer and would have some cushion to them. I also liked the idea of being able to peel away layers to customize the support. While the idea is good, it needs improvement. They still feel very hard when installed and is a generous arch. Much more than I needed, so I peeled off a layer. It can only be peeled away once, to about a third of the original thickness, and when you peel it away, it also removes the portion where the adhesive is…poor design. This still wasn’t enough reduction for me but I was unable to peel away any more layers off of it, so it is only marginally adjustable. I tried putting it on my foot also, thinking maybe this was the best way to use it but again, it was too much support and felt very hard, and when I peeled a portion away then I couldn’t stick it to my foot anymore. I just couldn’t get it to fit my needs.

Avoid
I knew going in based off other reviews to NOT put directly on shoes, so I put them on insoles. They hurt is the bigger problem. Avoid if you're trying to heal plantar fasciitis.

Hard material
Really wanted these to work and they may for someone as feet shapes are so specific to each person. I had to trim these quite a bit to fit in my shoes (size 9) and I still couldn't trim them enough to fit in my arch. The material is felt and not at all soft or cushiony so if it's directly under your arch you can feel them under your feet. Not comfortable for me, but did raise the arch a bit more than other products.

They stick really well
I actually really like these. I have custom orthotics for plantar fasciitis and the arch on one just wasn't high enough. I added one of these and it was so much more comfortable. At my 6 month follow up with the podiatrist they were actually kind of impressed by how close I had gotten this to the spot it needed to be, but also how well this stuff stuck down.I have some shoes that I can't wear my custom orthotics in, so I've put these inside of them. Of course, when I've had to take them out they are not easy to get back up, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. I've used arch pafs before that are able to be repositioned and they always come lose or fall out, which is pretty annoying. These work really well for me, but I get that they may not be great for everyone. I honestly wish they came in different colors so I could match them to the shoes I've put them in.
