BOSCH 0280142431 Original Equipment Vapor Canister Purge Valve
I bought this about a month ago and just wanted to have it on hand as I was getting some intake leak codes. In short, I ended up changing it and found my old one to be bad. So far it has been working great in my 2007 vw rabbit. The part is made in the Czech Republic. You can check it with a hand held vacuum pump. I'm uploading the video to the net on how I did this. So far so good and it's very affordable as it seems to be a common part which is nice.

Good fit for 2013 Volkswagen Passat 2.5L
Had an issue with my vehicle starting when I filled up with gas. Car randomly showed the "no gas cap" error light on the dash and eventually the check engine light came on. After some research it was suggested replacing this part may be the solution. It's inexpensive so I figured why not. As far as I can tell this part is OEM, or at least, comparable. Not sure why Amazon insisted it wasn't the correct part for my 2013 Passat 2.5L SE but it is. Immediately fixed the issue with starting the car after gas fill-ups. Took a few weeks of driving before my check engine light turned off. Overall, very happy

Fixed my small fuel evap leak code and check engine light
Check your clamps first because you may need replacement clamps too if the car manufacturer used one time only swage clamps. When this part has no power the valve is supposed to be fully closed and you should not be able to blow air through in the direction of the arrow. If on your purge valve you have air bypassing then you have fuel vapors flooding your engine after every refuel making your VW vehicle difficult to start and run poorly for the first couple of minutes. If this happens you need this part. This part is designed to allow fuel vapors from your fuel tank to flow into the throttle body for emissions control; only after the engine is warmed up and idled. It wasn’t difficult to install; only two hoses and an electrical connector. On a VW you’ll need to remove the air box cover to get to this part too but since you need hose clamp pliers anyway for the removal and install you’ll have no problem. The only downside to this product is that the original is also a Bosch and it failed in the open position after 10 years.
