Cen-Tec Systems 34498 Telescopic Wand Vacuum Wand, Nylon Ring Collar, Chromed Steel, No Button

I feel like a complete nerd for loving this wand so much but I do! I have a Kirby Sentra I bought at a divorce sale, but it was missing the extension wand and a few other pieces. No big, but after laying on my belly to vacuum under a bed I was over it. This fit right onto the house. I do have to push it fairly hard to get it to stay, and occasionally it slips. Still completely fine because I love it! It's the perfect length to accept a hardwood floor brush and make short work of vacuuming. The click lock works great, I shortened it to dust ceiling fan blades then extended it for a light fixture in the stairwell. Just right. I know this is marketed for a specific system but it does work with other standard sized systems, including Kirby. It's far superior quality to the plasticy wand the Kirby is supposed to have. I'm going to check out this brand for any other random pieces needed before bothering with the branded stuff.

The plastic wands that came with the original central vacuum garage hose kept breaking and/or coming loose. It was very annoying and inconvenient. The metal pipe fit the hose fine, and the floor brush was large and sturdy. Should have noticed that their availability much sooner. Made my life much easier.

Good overall product, but the catch on the button is a bit weak. It won't stay at its most raised position, and keeps moving to the 2nd position from the most raised one. Still usable, but would be better not to have to huddle down as much and vacuum while staying straight.

Good quality

This is a well-made after-market wand. The button/latch to adjust the length is plastic, and you need to check for solid locking when you change length, but it works fine - just be aware, like with so much new stuff, you can't be too rough with it. The chrome plating is very nice. The end that attaches to the vacuum hose uses a plastic insert for friction. It remains to be seen how durable that is. Lastly, I chose this particular item because it had the longest maximum length. I'm 6'2" and it's more than long enough with my vacuum (Eureka Mighty Mite).

Heavy duty, and also heavier than I expected (in a good quality way). I can see where some people would complain about the plastic locking mechanism, I think they could have maybe used a higher quality component there, but it works just fine right now. I think it's the highest probable failure point over time, but we'll see. Also, I'm 6'2", so I have to extend it nearly all the way to use it comfortably at a good angle with a hardwood floor attachment. If you're pushing NBA level height, you might want to pick up a longer extension or two of these to daisy chain for maximum comfort. For me though, damn happy with this product overall.

Our original plastic hardwood floor wand brock after many years of service. I was excited to find this chromed steel wand that telescopes. It fits perfectly, look great, and take up less room. Also easily changes size to best fit different users. My 4yr old vacuumed the whole living room because he was so excited that the wand gets small enough for him. It also gets long enough for my 6 foot self to use comfortably.

Having a second wand keeps us from running up and down the stairs. Works great, adjustable is nice when you are trying to reach high or under something. This is a solidly built unit - weights a bit more than our old Beam vacuum wand.

Quality is A+ and the unit feels nice and solid! Purchased this for my Makita Vacuum and it fits like a glove! The locking mechanism is good and not flimsy. It locks securely. Would I ever buy this again if I needed another vacuum telescoping wand? Yes!

Looks like the unit will work fine, if the extension lock is durable. Had to drill a 1/4" hole in the tube so the lock button on the hose attachment end would lock to the upper tube. Not a big deal for me as I have the drill etc.

I have been using it since July 2019 and never had an issue with it. Really well made and sturdy! Ordering another unit for my new place.

My original (Superlux) wand broke, so I needed a replacement. I got this one and I'm very happy with it -- my old vacuum wand had a "pin hole" which this one doesn't, and I thought to myself I was going to simply drill a hole in to have it fit, but I didn't have to -- it's a snug fit, it works perfect the way it is. Quite frankly I feel this works even better than the original wand, I truly believe the suction improved, because it is a better fit, it has less holes for the air to escape. Recommended.
