I realize this seems highly critical and I don't mean it to be harsh, but I say it because, as human beings living on this Earth and in this physical domain I can't think of a more important or profound subject for us to come to understand - it's at the top of the heap and it gives meaning and context to every other thing we will do now and it would seem forever. Yet, in spite of this manifest need we have all had from the beginning, we haven't been provided much coherent insight as to where we came from and where we're going and what is the purpose in all of this life thing we're living. Truly, since the dawn of man and of his written record, we remain pretty much in the dark about the greater meanings of life, it's purposes and of our existence. Given that every human has had these same needs from the very beginning of consciousness, it would seem, I find that the absence of such help and aged wisdom to be irresponsible and probably even a despicable on the commentary of man. What is known of these subjects has to be uncovered and learned through pains-takingly slow attempts to assemble what we can find - and then woefully incomplete - indeed, research on these subjects will quickly reveal that virtually everything we might have learned over time, that might help guide us coherently in this age, has been largely destroyed, wasted or lost through conflict between men or squandered through just plain irresponsibility. This is not a good track record, is it? Yes, sure, the churches and many religions try in some ways to get us on their band-wagons to spoon feed us their 'branded' beliefs....... in my experience, virtually never mentioning the subject of 'reincarnation', and mostly, I have found just avoiding the subject entirely. And in my own search and forays into religion , I've gone down that path, too, and finally pulled back as I came finally to strongly suspect if not fully believe that most of what the churches do and say is constrained by their primary purpose of fund raising so that they can stay afloat and their many compromises to that end. Moreover, what they do collectively, I think I have learned, I consider to be nearly pabulum as compared to what Weiss has done single-handedly in opening this all-important and vital subject, virtually, to anyone who can read. Through his several books on the subject of reincarnation/regression therapy - all of which I have found to be very well-written and complete in their individual scopes, he has finally pulled the veil off this most important subject and explained it in a way we can all understand, and in doing so been completely respectful of all faiths and beliefs. So, without dissecting the entire book it might be best to try to put it this way. If you have an interest in: - who you are, and - what you are, and - where you are going, and - your purpose for being here, and - the roles and importance of all those primary people in your life, before, now and ongoing in your existence, and - how you can learn even more about all of this and get to the bottom of the subject once and for all (and honestly, who doesn't?) - and this is just the tip of the ice-berg . . . then by all means get this work by Weiss and read it asap - borrow the money to buy it if you have to, but do it. Further, if you in any way have the where-with-all to do so, also get his other books and read them as soon as you can but AFTER, I would recommend, that you have also obtained and read Dr. Michael Newton's seminal work's, both, Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls, and then Dr. Linda Backman's recently completed work, Bringing Your Soul to Light. Read them all if you possibly can and find out who and what you are and finally gain vital insight and understanding of your purpose for being here on this Earth and in this life you are in. MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you had ever feared death before (and who hasn't) learn to at least hold that fear at arm's-length, if not lose your fear of death completely. By nature, I'm a skeptic of the many and varied opinions on any number of 'profound subjects' we have to try to sort out in life, but I do herewith verify to you that, for me, as I read this book and the others I mentioned, virtually all of the cracks and crevasses of my doubts and skepticism's were one by one filled in....I am sure something very similar will happen to you if you work your way through this book and the others with an open mind. And as a near final point, I am quite mindful of the author's mentioned here and of their own backgrounds and paths and how they got to where they are now. I consider it a very strong vote for authenticity that each of the author's I mentioned above, Weiss, Newton and Backman (and there are numerous others on a growing list) have nearly completely converted their psychoanalytic practices, and in the case of Weiss, his medical practice, too, to work almost exclusively now in these therapeutic domains - past-life and between-life regression and now future-life progression as well. They have done this because they have by now irrefutably verified thousands upon thousands of cases where their clients/patients/subjects have been healed of their various trauma's and been able to move on into confident and productive lives through these near-miraculous regression and progression practices and therapies. This is a most important consideration to me personally because it represents the 'proof in the pudding', as near as can be obtained in this temporal domain, regarding this vitally important subject. I recall that when I studied psychology as an undergraduate with the early goal that I would try to proceed on to a career in psychotherapy (clinical-psychology), I eventually turned away from that career path because during my studies I came to realize that the track record of true healing through psychoanalysis wasn't, it was admitted in the class-room by the professors, all that good or 'permanent'. Well, I was very surprised and equally unimpressed, so I chose another path of interest. The breakthroughs in understanding and healing, however, being now obtained by these pioneers in past-life regression and future-life progression have surely changed the paradigm and through these techniques people are finally being reliably healed. For me, this is profoundly significant. This book by Weiss and the others are must-reads for those of us who are really seeking and want to 'piece it all together' and especially for those who might really, really need to - and to move on to meaningful, productive and completed lives - lives lived, finally and perhaps for the first time, with their life-purpose in focus. Review: Fascinating And Consistent With New Age Ideas - I'm totally fascinated with new age ideas so this book fits right into my interests. Particularly interesting to me was the stories of people who travelled mentally to Atlantis and ancient Egypt and also to the future on this planet: on Atlantis the buildings were made of something like glass and people used their knowledge of the forces of nature for evil purposes. the guy who did this got the 'rack' treatment by the Catholic church in a later lifetime. the priests in ancient Egypt used 'energy rods' that produced sound and light energy to heal the body. using these secret arcane methods they could stimulate the body to regenerate limbs that were lost in battle. this guy is a homosexual in his present life. his partner makes him do things he doesn't like. sexual things. These ideas are consistent with the Edgar Cayce material. The markings inside the great pyramid tell the history of our human race which I think ends around the year 3200 according to the pyramid. Interestingly none of Dr. Weiss' case studies in this book spoke of any time on earth past the year 3200 although they spoke of coming to this planet some 60,000 years ago and hiding some artifacts from their civilization. Dr. Weiss also summarizes his prophetic vision of the future based on his progessing of groups of people at his seminars. I would love to have Dr. Weiss hypnotize me and talk with him for many hours and then have him write a book about my experiences. I'm signed up to attend his weekend session coming up in Rhinbeck, NY in August 2005. I didn't get into the following week long session but will keep checking his schedule: I only believe in Dr. Weiss not other people like psychics who claim they can communicate with the dead. Those people use their psychic powers for their own greed probably. I'm one of those people that Dr. Weiss mentions that have some fears that this subject has the potential to lead into the black arts and the occult. The people in the movie The Ametyville Horror had been experimenting with transcedental meditation. This opened the door to the horrific forces within the house. A great followup to Many Souls Many Masters
I would recommend first reading Many Souls Many Masters to understand the power of past life regression. But even if this is your first book from Brian Weiss, he explains the process of his work for those who are new. What he does and how he helps his clients is fascinating.

This book, "Same Soul, Many Bodies" by Dr Brian L. Weiss, tells about "There is one and the same soul in many bodies". Dr Brian Weiss wrote 14 chapters in this book, revealing how our future lives can transform us in the present. We have all lived past lives. All of us will live future ones. What we do in this life will influence and impact the lives to come as we evolve towards immortality. In this book, the author has not only regressed his patients into the past, but also progressed them into the future. Dr Weiss, demonstrates the therapeutic benefits of progression, therapy to bring people more peace, joy and healing, just as he has shown that journeys into past lives can cure physical, psychological or emotional wounds in the present. I enjoyed reading this book which gives insights about past life regression therapy and more about future life progression therapy.
