I want to be completely honest with you about this product. Initially, I was not impressed because the charcoal pencils kept breaking off when I tried to sharpen them. I was so disappointed that I even considered returning them and wrote a negative review. However, my opinion changed drastically after I tried using an electric sharpener. The difference in performance with an electric sharpener was remarkable. It made all the difference in the world. I was ready to return the pencils until I gave the electric sharpener a try. The bottom line is, to invest in an electric sharpener, and then give these Charcoal Pencils Drawing Set of 10 another chance. Once properly sharpened, they are easy to work with and truly enhance the quality of my sketches. I anticipate using them frequently in my art projects.

I bought 2 sets. One for my grandson who, at 14, is a gifted artist, and one set for me because I love mechanical pencils for paperwork.

The leads were broken inside. I just sharpened them and lost about half of them. I would look for more decent charcoal pencils.
