is this ok to use for dogs?

I'm sure its fine for dogs - I would introduce the dog to it and the little sound it makes when it injects before actually doing it. The problem we personally have is the needles - my husband has a prescription for b&D needles but they are SO stiff sometimes that this gizmo doesn't have the power to push it in and deliver the injection - but that's an issue with the needles, not the unit. Still, I'd make sure that isn't an issue before actually using it as well depending on what brand needles you will be using.

You can't: It only holds a 1 ml insulin/TB test syringe. Even if you did try it with testosterone in that size syringe it wouldn't work for two reasons: First, the spring isn't powerful enough to inject something as viscous (thick) as testosterone in oil suspension and second, an insulin needle that fits this device is too short to deliver medication deep into the muscle as must be done for testosterone. When teaching patients we have them, or their significant other, to practice with a regular needle and syringe and tap water on a lemon or raw chicken breast. Trust me, I'm a doctor....

Can you adjust for the depth of the needle for injection?

You can but I sent it back to the seller because the instructions and videos were way off from a user friendliness and accuracy standpoint. I purchased an autoject instead and even with them had to get an additional spacer. It all comes down to what syringe you are using. I liked the theory of this one but it just didn't work out for me. Autoject is a good way to go with a 1ml syringe and 5/8" needle but you will need a spacer from the seller directly.
