Born Under the Veil

This book was incredible. The atmosphere was always haunting. The relationships between characters were moving. There's real pathos here.What impressed me the most was the way the first person narration evolves from the voice of a young child to that of a young man. That's a hard trick to pull off, and here it was done with an expert touch.I was reminded of a few works. A Beautiful Mind. The Beast is an Animal. The Babadook. Maybe most of all was the original novel of the Exorcist. Even at the end, I found myself delightfully unsure what really happened - if it had all been supernatural forces, if we were just dealing with a crazy person, or if somehow they weren't both true...

a compelling story with characters that grip your heart. I spent hours turning pages and hoping for the best.This story will leave you thinking for days after you've completed the book. A must read for anyone interested in suspenseful tales.

The story flowed so wonderfully. Loved each chapter devoted to a character and year. As an older adults it's been awhile since I've read anything centered around the occult but jordan made it believable and drew the character's close in their battle to survive. Loved everything about it!

Solid storyline. Lots of suspense. A bit creepy that I couldn’t read it at night when I was alone. Had to know how it ended.

The book dug deep into the lives of a family haunted by Things they don't understand. The complex dynamics of their relationships drove a story full of surreal sensations and imagery.

Well written and engrossing story. I literally could not put it down!

I have this book a three because it was a confusing read. At first very hard to follow and then about half if not more it made more sense. It has a good plot.
