Steel. Good quality. Worked great. I needed to secure my balusters with screws and these did a great job fitting over the screws for a clean look.

When we decided to remodel our staircase, I was very skeptical of ordering them online without actually touching and seeing them. I read all of the product reviews and just decided to "go for it". I was NOT disappointed. They are well made, easy to install and we had no issues what-so-ever. I would recommend to anyone!!

Decently made and look good, but the set screws are on the long side (downward) of the angled shoe. This means you look at the screw while walking up the stairs or walk along the side of the staircase. They should have been on the short side (upward) to hide them much better.

These take a little bit of detailed measuring and cutting to get them snug in place but not complicated for the most part. The one annoying thing (that is mentioned in other reviews) is that the “square” at the top and bottom are not exactly lined up. (E.g. all four sides don’t line up in sync at the top and bottom). Because of that we had trouble using the enclosed pivot feet for the top (under the handrail). We decided to just utilize the holes that had been there from where the wood poles came out of and it worked much better! These seem “heavier” than the old wooden spindles so now it seems that the whole railing is sturdier as well. Overall we are happy with the product and the end result.

Not easy to install even my husband is pretty handy.

I am in love with my new iron stair balusters! They really changed the look of my stairs. It was an easy cut with a grinder and installation. Now all I need to do is paint the banister a dark java color.
