I purchased these flags from Hands of Tibet, and I'm completely pleased. The flags are small, about 6 by 4, but the colors are vibrant. As has been pointed out, the blue flags have black ink on them, making them hard to read. However, the point of these flags are not to be hung because they're pretty. They're meant to be hung to carry prayers and, in this case, health. (If hanging them outside isn't an option, they may be hung inside, but it's best to hang them where a breeze can get to them.) Yes, they have frayed edges, as the flags are meant to break down over time, and once they're frayed and unreadable, should be burned. Also, as far as the smell issue that I saw in other reviews, my flags had a mild scent when I first took them from the bag they came in, but that went away after about ten minutes. All in all, these are wonderful flags, and I'll be buying another set from Hands of Tibet when I need a new set.

These are just what I was looking for in Tibetan Prayer Flags!! They are larger than my other Flags, but they look wonderful hanging above my prayer and meditation spot in my bedroom. I just finished hanging them and am so pleased that I had to write a review. They do have a bit of a chemical scent when first opened, but that faded before I even finished hanging them. And, being cotton, they have some loose threads, which, to me, gives them an authenticity that those made of silk don't have. Being a practicing Buddhist, the threads help me with my tendency towards perfectionism and help me practice mindfulness!!

These were just what I wanted, the right size compared to others that are larger. Happy with the purchase.

Arrived quickly, nice, bright, vibrant colors, and look great on our back deck. There is no hem because prayer flags aren't supposed to have one, they are supposed to slowly unravel. They are a great price so you can just buy more then they are gone. We've had them up for a couple weeks and they haven't faded at all. I'm sure over time they will fade a bit, but that's the nature of dyed fabrics, and I think part of the charm. Will definitely be getting more of these.

Like a previous reviewer mentioned, these do have an extremely strong chemical smell when you first get them... similar to mothballs. I put them in the window for a few hours and the smell does eventually dissipate. I have bought flags from the local Tibetan spot and they also had this smell but to a lesser degree, if they were stored in plastic when I bought them, as these are. Either way, they are decent quality and the price is reasonable. If you are chemical sensitive you may want to pass but I would certainly buy more of these especially if I didn't have a local option.
