for transom tie down point
My aluminum trailer didn't have a good transom tie down spot. I added this onto a fender bolt that attaches at the frame. It is very sturdy.

Not your typical use
Bought two of these to install on the back of my van door top hinges to attach one end of my hammocks to. If they can hold climbing falls they can hold a human on a hammock, or attach webbing to support hitch loads.
