powers sm58 dynamic mic on presonus studio 24c
the mic amp gain is low on presonus studio 24c for a dynamic mic SM58. so i had to purchase this and it did the trick. Better option would be to purchase a powerful audio interface or a condensor mic.

It's amazing... when it works.
Got the DM2 because I needed some inline gain for my SM7b. The main thing I was looking for was something with a lot of gain and the lowest possible self noise, for which the DM2 delivers on both ends. It's amazing... when it works. Unfortunately this requires phantom power to work, which in itself is to be expected, but the reason I'm dropping two stars from this review and saying "when" it works is because in some occasions even if I provide phantom power, it doesn't work. This is especially the case for wireless XLR transmitters -- they all work with condenser microphones (48V phantom power required), but doesn't work there. Also had occasional drop-outs on the H6 when on battery. Maybe I got a faulty device, not sure, but if you're looking to use this in some kind of wireless setup, I don't recommend it -- but with a solid DAW like the Rodecaster Pro 2, it will work fine -- but at that point, you won't need it. So, bottom line, I "kind of" recommend this product.

This is so worth every penny!
This is my first inline mic preamp. The retial box is adorable, well looks like a small TNT stick in the same blue color. And top makes a very satisfying pop sound.Enough gushing over the cute box it comes in.The ability to make fine tuning with the adjustments really makes a difference and very worth trying each until you find what works for you best.I use a Yamaha MG10XU and it provides the 48v Phantom power to activate this preamp. The phantom power does not go past the preamp.I use a SHURE SM7B and while the YAMAHA works fine by itself and for me atheist I found I don't need to turn up the gain as much as most show. I am set up in a very small confined space so most audio settings I use are nothing like the pros suggest. So I won't be suggesting gain settings or impedance suggestions. The build quality is excellent. The ease of use is excellent. The audio quality is excellent. (Make adjustments to find the best for your mic)Reminder this is not for condenser mics. This is for dynamic mics of the XLR variety.Value for the money is excellent.I can highly recommend this for anyone looking for a dynamic mic inline pre-amp.5 stars all day long.

Early Days - but seems amazing
Have only been able to try this out in a practice session so far. Initial Sound Desk feedback is a big tick.Using with a low output flute mic.

Great for my setup, Versatile
I wasn’t sure if I needed a preamp that provided more or less decibels in boost so I bought this. I am by no means of sound engineer. but this has been great. I’ve been able to mess with the impedance and the decibels levels with my sure SM7B and it has helped boost the volume of my mic great without any extra noise floor problems.I would totally recommend if you have more than one microphone that you will be working with in your studio that requires different impedance or decibel levels of boost.
