I scoop out my cat's litter box daily. Even so, unless all the litter is dumped and replaced, a subtle, ammonia based smell of the contaminated litter continues to permeate the air in the room. I found this product, and purchased it in hopes of "fixing" this problem. And it WAS a problem. Especially if that odor is in close proximity to bedding, fabric window coverings, furniture, and most importantly, otherwise "clean" clothing you intend to wear. In my case, dress shirts, suits, and ties, hanging in a closet. I didn't fully realize this until a coworker I went to lunch with, asked me if I owned "a cat." Or "cats." Ugh! "Embarrassing", is an understatement. I guess I was just used to it, and didn't even really notice it, or think it was an issue. But trust me, people around you DO notice it, and it IS an issue. Few people will be kind enough to actually say anything to you about it. And I'm glad he did, because as embarrassing as it was, by doing so, it prompted me look for a way to solve it. Moving the litter box, or getting rid of my cat, were NOT options. So I gave this zeolite ammonia neutralizer a shot, and it worked like a champ. It's actually pretty powerful stuff. I started off with fresh litter, and every time I scoop it out now, I sprinkle the equivalent of what will fill up the average laundry detergent bottle cap. Right in, on top of the litter. The difference it makes in preventing the odor is nothing short of incredible. The absence of the smell in the house now, is definitely noticeable. I've since had everything in the closet RE-dry cleaned. And my coworker says I no longer smell like I slept at the local animal shelter before work. This is an OUTSTANDING PRODUCT if you have a cat, or cats. : ? )

I use this in all my filters instead of buying premade filter bags. This has carbon and zeolite to elevate the water quality and reduce ammonia. It is a more economical way to filter my tanks, and I have also more control over the quantity of carbon/zeolite. I purchased filter bags and I make/fill to my needs. This is a great economical way to filter my tanks. The container size will last me for a long time.
