Very Fresh & Flavorful, Plus Organic , Which Is Critical With Flaxseed- Non GMO, too
This flaxseed is USDA Organic (not fake organic) and it's Non-GMO. There are no pesticides, fillers nor additives. It's 100% pure flaxseed. Pesticide Free Organic is critical for flaxseed. Flaxseed is quite adept at picking up any pesticide, not only damaging your body, but also changing the flavor. Try some non-organic and you will immediately taste the petroleum flavor of pesticides. This stuff is truly pesticide free. Also note that it is USDA organic. It is not a fake Organic statement, which is allowed in many states here in the U.S. Please note, too, that one of the great benefits of flaxseed is the amount of lignans- a powerful anti-oxidant. Certain pesticides mutate the lignans into free radicals. That's what anti-oxidants fight. Another benefit of flaxseed are the Omega 3, 6 & 9's. Pesticides certainly wreck these. It is cold milled so we get to enjoy the healthy oils and all of the flavor. Nothing's wrecked with cold milling. It's vegan, gluten free & it is peanut free., If you keep to the Pareve dietary laws, it's compliant. The flavor is phenomenal and it is obviously fresh. Flaxseed is something I grew up eating in everything. (My mother's family has owned a flax farm in Italy for dozens & dozens of generations, so flaxseed eating is a family habit. I'm kind of picky about flaxseed.) Premium Gold more than satisfies my tastes. This flaxseed retains the characteristic delicate nutty flavor with no fear of nut allergy problems. Many commercial flaxseeds lose the flavor & are boring. I really like Premium Gold brand. You can use flaxseed to make delicious pasta, add flavor to boring polenta, to add to flour in breads, to substitute for eggs and oil in baked goods, sprinkle on tomato soup, and more. I put it on salads, mix in chocolate rice milk, put on fruit- well, just about anything. When I was a kid, I remember my siblings sprinkling it on ice cream & mixing it in milk shakes. A real favorite of mine is natural peanut butter on organic whole grain bread with flaxseed sprinkled on top. Or, try dipping fresh cut, raw broccoli florets in flaxseed. Also note that if you happen to use psyllium for digestion help, flaxseed is great & better than psyllium. Simply mix it in water or sneak it into your other foods & beverages during the day. Be sure to drink plenty of water if you use a lot. In my experience, it works far, far better for IBS than psyllium, too- I'm symptom free with flaxseed & peppermint oil. Also note that if you do use psyllium, it is something else that should be organic & never be cut with maltodextrin, as some manufacturers do. This flaxseed is from one farm, not brokered out. This way there is accountability to the organic, non-GMO, Pareve and nut-free statements. In other words, it's safe. The farm is a family owned business that's been around a long time. I think they also do the milling & packaging. The product is well packaged for long-term freshness & is resealable. (I do keep the extra in the freezer. that's just my quirk.) Try some. You may like it & find lots of uses for it!

Great value, great quality: the Gold standard of milled flaxseed
This is a very good product for the price. If you haven't had milled flaxseed before, it tastes good, similar to wheat germ, but with a more savory and substantial flavor, if you're eating it plain. This brand is no exception. It's a versatile thing to have in your home. We use this in our fruit smoothies in the morning. It adds protein, Omega-3 and fiber, so that they ahve more staying power and nutrition. It's one of the best sources of fats that you can have in your diet as well. It is a staple of the nutritarian diet and you can eat it daily. Premium Gold has a more gold color than other milled flax seeds, which tend to be on the brown spectrum. It tastes just as good, if not better, than other brands. It has a different aroma than others, as other reviewers have pointed out, but it doesn't affect the flavor. We will buy this again.

No Complaints Here!
The price of this organic flax seed was just too good to pass up! Organic items always cost more. It’s just a fact of life. The better the quality, the higher the price. That said, this was a huge bag of ground flax seeds. To add to that, when I saw that the flax seed was organic, it pretty much sealed the deal for me, to be honest. I usually buy whole flax seeds, though. The reason for this is that I like to grind the flax seeds up for more freshness. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that this flax seed was pretty fresh. And I should know because I have several uses for it. For instance, I like to add it to my morning smoothies. I also make flax eggs to replace regular eggs when I’m baking. (The binding quality of flax seeds is outstanding.) Sometimes, I just add ground flax seeds to my drinking water to increase my fiber intake. In short, the benefits of flax seed are endless. But, again, this package was nicely fresh. It wasn’t as fresh as it would have been if I had just ground it myself. But it was close, I have to admit. By the way, I learned that all flax seed contains zinc, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and iron. But there’s one noticeable difference between brown flax seed and golden flax seed. Brown flax contains slightly more Omega 3 oil than golden flax seed. There’s a three percent difference between the two. (Fat comprises 38 percent of the brown variety, whereas it makes up 35 percent of the golden variety.) Some people might not really care about the difference. Others might prefer to have more Omega 3 oils in their diet. But for those who might be trying to lose weight, the golden flax seeds might be the preferred choice. After all, a lot of people consume flax seed each and every day. And everyone knows that the effect of daily dietary choices is cumulative. So, in this context, the golden flax seed might be slightly more beneficial for those who are closely monitoring their fat intake. However, all flax seed is really healthy, right? At any rate, I was completely satisfied with this product, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again.

Great Value but Packaging Flaw
This product truly is as indicated on the package - “Farm to table.” That it comes pre-ground is a huge benefit. It tastes great and is really helping me with my prostate issue. Also, the amount you get for the price is way beyond value when compared to more known name brands. My only gripe is that zip-lock seal of the packaging. I bought the product on June 2. Yesterday, August 4, after I opened it and tried to reseal it with that zip-lock it didn’t Work. Upon further inspection, I saw where one side of the zip had completely become unglued from its side of the package and is now permanently locked in place on the other side of the package. Now, I have to use a big clip - like I use for chips and such, to try to keep it fresh. I still have ½ of the bag full of product. I just hope the remaining doesn’t get stale prior to my using all the product. For this reason, I am not giving a 5-star overall rating.
