First gallon worked great. Second gallon not so much. Didn't kill as long, maybe only half the time. Doesn't kill elephant ears. First impression was great. Now looking for alternatives.

When I first became a home owner, I purchased Ortho GroundClear to kill everything between the rocks in a long path from my house to our firepit. I was amazed and ecstatic with the results. I strayed from Ortho and found a cheaper vegetation killer. The new product worked but did not last all season....so I ended up using more product and wasting more time by reapplying. Ortho GroundClear kills all vegetation quick and keeps it under control for the season. I noticed that season after season the vegetation elimination process gets easier. I feels it keeps some weeds from returning. I am a fan of this product. If I am near grass that I don't want damaged, I use a sprayer (no wind day) to apply a light coating to dampen the soil with an extra spray on existing weeds. On the end of our stone driveway where weeds and grass sprout up, I use a watering can for a one and done for the season application. (Tip: Mark that watering can with an "X" so you don't use it for anything else.) (Another Tip: I have a bucket that I keep all the items I use to mix, measure and stir this product with. When I am ready to start the vegetation elimination process I have everything I need in one place and don't risk using these items for another product and cross contaminate.)

We'll see. For some reason, this application I did not see any results, - applied full sun, no rain and full strength. It's taken about 7 days to see activity of having started to "kills" weeds, plants, etc. "ground clear". I started to wonder and was preparing to apply again presently. But today, about a week later I am starting to see "browning". When applied, as happens, one can see the "white" ish coloration from the spray, especially if used in a stone, concrete walk way, etc. I saw a nice coating. One should not have to "soak" a plant - but, I make sure as well as I can and with a pro sprayer I've been using for years, and well maintained. I also have the weed killer for lawns - and was wondering if might have to use that - since sometimes the combination seems "more" affective. Now, I'll wait, and if have left over from lawn spots. So, I don't get why I might experience different results when from one year to the next usually see "browning" no more than 3 days later, but this time I did. This stuff is, for me, costly and "work" to walk my property and spray it - so, I expect good results for my time, money and efforts - I'm not "playing" at this, not a hobby, etc. So, I hope that helps someone. So, use the max dilution per the label, coat it all well and it may take 7 days. As far as preventive for the season - eh, well, we'll see. I tend to use "preen" as well. I can't imagine germination prevention for 2 months without a time release dropped chemical, unfortunately.

I have a small farm and a big weed problem around my house. We get every kind of weed I think it's possible to grown in eastern America, and controlling them, especially in my long gravel driveway, is a nightmare. I try to stay as organic as I can, so finding an herbicide that doesn't kill weeds AND everything else is of concern to me. I don't want to harm the many amphibians, reptiles, and birds that inhabit my property. So after researching this Ortho GroundClear Year Long Vegetation Killer and seeing that its active ingredients are lethal to plants and nothing else, I decided to give it a try. My first pass, I goofed and got the mixture half strength. Still, it killed most of the weeds, even diluted. Another light pass at full-strength a month later knocked everything else dead. Well, except for one kind of woody weed. The instructions say that it's a lethal herbicide for your typical weeds and grasses, and it did indeed kill everything except for this one heavy-stemmed weed I can't identify. Still, I've never had anything do as well as this Ortho mix, so I'm thrilled with the results and will hand-remove the few stragglers. I first sprayed a couple months ago, so I'm confident that at this stage, with almost everything still dead, that it will last me through the rest of the year. But will it go six-months after that, as the "One Year" label promises? I dunno, but it's not a crushing disappointment if I have to redo this next spring. Recommended if you want a lethal, long-lasting herbicide that really works and isn't toxic to every living thing on the planet, just plants. I don't rate everything I review five stars, so this herbicide really did impress me.

Works well, but takes a few days to show effects. With the speed that things grow in Florida, doesn't last as long as advertised, but 6-8 months is still pretty good.
