These do the job, but may need modifiacation
I've been using these for years and I think they work great. A lot of folks have mentioned that they're both uncomfortable and that they do not stay in your nose. I'm a side sleeper, and for the most part they stay in my nose with no issues. If you are a stomach sleeper or if you're using these while you're running, biking etc, I would use a small piece of tape to hold it in place. Take a thin strip of a medical tape and tape it to the bridge of the device leaving about an inch on each side hanging over. Once the device is in your nose, take those extra pieces of tape and tape it to the sides of your nose. This is what I do when I use it to run with it. As for the discomfort, the piece that inserts your nose has three raised disks that I think are designed to grip your nose. Sometimes they're a little sharp and will irritate your nose. The only one that irritates my nose is the lowest disk on the bottom of the part that inserts into your nose. I usually take an Xacto Knife and cut that piece off. Then I take some ultrafine wet/dry sandpaper 1500 grit and sand it down. That seems to eliminate any irritation.

uncomfortable, falls out, Silent Sleep beats this one hands down!
One of the best nasal dilators I ever used was Sullys Nose spreader, this was the first of its kind. Thin surgical steel wire shaped similar to Silent Sleep except there was a wide loop at each end which not only pressed out the side walls of the nostrils but the loop sat against the inner part of the nostril to create resistance. The genius inventor-engineer Robert Sullivan created the prototype for himself 20 years ago as he said he slept with straws up his nose to open his nasal passages..I was so impressed I could finally breathe at nite that I tried to get my long time allergist to supply them for his patients. My allergist tried one and when I saw him the following week said he wouldn't carry them for his patients. When I asked him why he said his patients wouldn't come to him anymore, their breathing problems would be solved! I know Mayo clinic used Sullys for their patients. Unfortunately Mr. Sullivan passed away and the business closed. Sullys Nose Spreaders are not available anymore. I have been using my leftover Sully Nose spreaders for the last 20 years, and a few months ago when I realized I had only one Sully Nose Spreader left I went on an active search for a replacement. About 2 weeks ago I discovered Silent Sleep nasal dilator from Snore Stop -available on Amazon. Absolutely the best! I suffer from small nasal passages combined with allergies to dust and I am a lazy house cleaner. At nite my nose stuffs up when I lie down. I have tried all the internal nasal dilators over the last several months to replace Sullys--Nosovent-the large hurt( Big mistake, I bought large because I wanted to really really breathe) and the medium fell out almost immediately and felt uncomfortable and weird compared to Sullys. I tried the Ultimate Nasal Dilator, a thicker wire contraption that you fit over your nose and the ends go into your nose-too uncomfortable with all the steel on the outside and the prongs that go into your nose feel weird. Another thing I tried was the Nose Cone, the plastic was so flimsy it collapsed under the weight of the sides of my nose. Breathe Right hardly worked as well as Sullys, just opened the nostrils a little, the "extra strength" is better but is too thick and rigid and felt uncomfortable, I think my nose was sweating under it! I ripped it off after wearing it for about a half hour. Another I tried is the Breathe With Eeze, actually an effective but expensive product that works well as long as you don't break it! You have to spread the wires apart to fit your nose and the steel is so thin it breaks very easily when you spread it apart- way too expensive to keep replacing them. I broke them they were too fragile. Other dilators I tried were either so flimsy they collapsed under the weight of the side walls of my nostrils, or they took up so much space in my nose there wasn't any space left over to breathe! The Silent Sleep by Snore Stopper is the best! It is made from a lightweight flexible coated plastic which you can adjust to how wide you want it to go-just like my beloved Sullys Nose Spreader.. To me the best part is that the part that spreads your nostrils open go the full height of the product so you can open your nostrils way up to the top of the nostrils( not only the bottom part at the opening of your nostrils)-just like the Sullys Nose Spreder. I can't even feel Silent Sleep in my nose and it does not need time to get used to. Comfortable from the get go you don't even know its there. When I read a review from another reviewer on the Amazon site who highly recommeneded Silent Sleep (by Snore Stopper)I thought I'd give it a try. Thank you reviewer!! Hands down Silent Sleep is the most comfortable and most effective internal nasal dilator I have tried since Sullys. And at a fraction of the cost-only $9.99!! I am so impressed I ordered 5 so I will always have them. (If you order 4 or more they give you one free)I have been using this for a week now and I couldn't be happier!!Thank you Silent Sleep!

The Nozovent nasal expander is my favorite one for the following reasons
I have a deviated septum and enlarged/swollen turbinates that restrict my nasal airways. I constantly open up my nostrils with my hands by placing my fingers on my cheekbones and pulling my nostrils apart. I also snore heavily and use a CPAP machine to help breathe during my sleep. The slightest increase in the airway is a huge relief, so I have tried almost every option for a similar product on Amazon over the past 2 years. The Nozovent nasal expander is my favorite one for the following reasons:1. It doesn't grip the septum. The other products that grip to the septum end up irritating the sensitive mucous membrane of the septum because it is not at tough as regular skin. The Nozovent, grips to the nostrils by expanding.2. Soft. The material has enough firmness to do its job but it's overall flexible so it can adjust to your anatomy and reduce discomfort.3. If you are a heavy snorer, you need a CPAP machine. This product does not affect my loud snoring. I don't know why they advertise all these products to help relieve snoring. Snoring happens in the throat, not in the nose. A CPAP machine is instant snoring relief, I love my machine. But I still use the Nozovent to open up my nostrils for improved breathing. I would wear it 24/7 if it didn't look silly, but I always have it on when I'm at home.4. I wish the center part that connects both nostril parts was a stronger in order to push/keep my nostrils open slightly more aggressively. This product is god-sent for people with trouble breathing through the nose due to narrow nasal passages. Nevertheless, I've tried many, many products, and this one is by far my favorite one.

Effective, but with downsides
I am a light sleeper and I sleep with my mouth closed. I sometimes snore, and usually it wakes me up right away. So, I can tell fairly easily what my snore pattern is.Upsides: this device seems to help my snoring (I wake up less than half as often). It works by keeping your nose open further, and so you can breath easier (it is a "reverse" of those "breath easy" nose strips as it pushes out from the inside of your nose). I suspect that you get more oxygen with each breath, and so you don't have to breath as deep or as often, and that is perhaps why it reduces snoring. It is also inexpensive, so it may be easy to justify taking a chance on it.Downsides: I doubt it would help mouth breathers. It slips out from time to time. It makes me sneeze sometimes (since it can tickle). It took me a few nights to get used to it (at first, it seemed a bit painful, but then I got used to it).I now use it sparingly, but it has it's place in my life. I will buy more when this one loses it's flex.
