Seventy Reasons for Speaking in Tongues: Your Own Built in Spiritual Dynamo

I happened to come across this book on the ElijahList. I come from a denomination that does not welcome speaking in tongues so when God started drawing me into the direction of a Spirit-filled, tongue speaking life, I was changed FOREVER. I love speaking in tongues! This book opened my eyes to a much greater extent to the significance of our spirit language. I love how he says that the greatest gift the Holy Spirit could have given the Body of Christ is this Spirit language. The more I think about this concept, the MORE I AGREE. From the moment we are born to the moment we leave this earth, we use our natural tongue. How awesome that now we have this SPIRITUAL tongue that is not only the activator to all of the Spirit's fruits and gifts, but is the great edifier, comforter, secret and mystery-revealer, etc etc etc. The possibilities are endless because God is endless!I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who wishes to get activated into a much fuller Christian life and who wishes to dive deep into God's heart. Such AN AWESOME READ!! I'm now passing it on to my dad, and then probably my mom. Let's share the wealth:)

Let's face it. The devil doesn't want God's people to be speaking in tongues. Why? Because the gift of the Holy Spirit or the gift of the spirit language is the greatest gift that the Holy Spirit had given to the individual believer in Christ. The gift of the spirit language is the activator to the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit and is the activator to the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit. Living in a developing country like PNG, I can say that many people still do not fully understand the benefits of speaking in tongues and Dr Hamon has done a great job here. A lot of what is taught here has been applied in my own life and I can honestly say that, they are workable and true. In fact, after reading this book, I have started to enter into a new level of prayer where I would pray in tongues and then the Spirit would take over and I would be groaning in the Spirit and the Spirit would be literally praying through me with words that cannot be uttered. After finishing the book, I have made a decision to be part of the 1 million christians who pray in tongues for 30 mins per day for the next 30 days. According to Dr Hamon, we will achieve a lot in advancing the kingdom of God globally as believers if we just pray in tongues for 30 mins per day for 30 days. And I'm doing this not because that's what Dr Hamon said, but because I WANT TO. Great book overall!

If you are a prayer warrior you must get this but it is a wonderful book it explains greatly what it means to speak in tongues and why we should pray that way it is biblical for those that know what I mean this is the must !

I learned to speak in tongues years ago. I knew it was a gift but after reading this book I appreciate my gift more. All I can say is God is Awesome.

Destroy the enemies plans of deceiving the saints in the area of speaking in tongues. Bill Hamon explains this gift with so much knowledge and simplicity that anyone can understand and apply it to their life.

Activate! So much is revealed in this book about HOLY SPIRIT. Thank you Bishop Hammond for your help with understanding the true purpose of the spirit language given to us as born again Believers. For many years I have prayed in the Spirit not fully understanding why but just being obedient to do it. Thank you for the beautiful words and guidance you have given to encourage us to fully tap into our FATHER’s Kingdom of Spirit and Truth! May the BLESSED LORD continue to overtake you and all who obey HIS Commands! In JESUS’ Name~Amen

After having read many of Dr. Hamon's books I think he has out done himself. This book is a must read for every believer not just those who already speak in their Spirit Language. Great job Dr. Bill.

The book was recommended to me a few months ago and it is okay. It definitely left me with a better understanding on speaking in tongues. My only issue is the book sometimes goes long chunks without referencing scriptures and some of the scriptures listed after a certain section either don’t match what has been said, or they only support parts of what has been said. Some of the examples are a bit too complicated to understand and at some points some of the things sound like his own personal opinion, which is fine but it’s important to state when you are giving your personal opinion. Also some of the explanations for some verses seem a bit farfetched and the description about the angels in heaven lined up ready to descend on the day of Pentecost isn’t mentioned in the Bible (maybe the author received some bison or revelation about this but we can’t really take that and start teaching it to others when it’s not in the Bible). The 70 reasons are written as a list to summarise each chapter and that’s okay but sometimes the reasons seem like the same thing, just reworded.All in all, it’s a good book. I would recommend it to get some idea of why you should speak in tongues but use wisdom to decide which parts you are going to take from it and make sure to go and check everything and every scripture mentioned in the this book with the actual Bible.

This boon has truly been eye opening and a blessing in every way. I feel I have more understanding on why I ought to pray in tongues more. What a wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit!

Excellent teaching on the subject, which has been a mystery to many Christians throughout the years - 'why speak in tongues? What is it for?' Well, now we know - it gets us quicker into the other spiritual gifts, as well as having this hotline to Heaven.
