Fits right into the mounting hole of the old lock
I was reading about "lock bumping" in the news. so I bought a set of bump keys on Fleabay (very cheap) just to try it out on my existing front door lock, to see if this is really possible. Also watched a YouTube video as tutorial. So when the keys arrived I tried it out and indeed - without any previous bump training, I had my own front-door lock open in 10 minutes. If I can do that in 10 minutes, a well-trained burglar does that in 10 seconds. So I immediately decided to replace the old lock with a bump-free lock. This Mul-T-Lock is doing the job. it is easy to install (fits the door-hole of the old lock like T), is sturdy and not too expensive. The only thing I do not like is that you get only 3 keys. It comes with a card-code which allows you to order more keys ($15 each, not cheap) at particular locksmiths but my problem is that you then give that locksmith your keycode AND your address. Seems risky to trust someone with that. The way I am going to solve that is to have an acquaintance order the keys for me, who lives at a completely different address (city even). I recommend you do the same if you order this product.

Much more secure than the lock sets sold at home improvement stores!
I bought this lock as a more secure replacement for the top-of-the-line Schlage deadbolt I purchased at Lowe’s a few years ago. My old lock was rated ANSI Grade 1, and highly resistant to kick-in and picking, but vulnerable to bumping. The Cronus uses a different cylinder design with a side pin that makes it difficult to pick and much more resistant to bumping. It’s probably far more likely that a would-be intruder will just try to kick your door in or use a pry bar, so it’s critically important to use a sturdy strike plate and secure it to your doorframe with 3” screws instead of the shorter ones that often come with lock sets. Still, bumping is a common practice and there are plenty of videos online showing how it’s done. I read in an online forum that although the Cronus is only rated Grade 2, the overall build quality is superior to the locks you’ll find at your local home improvement or hardware store. Installing the Cronus was very quick and easy, requiring only a Phillips screwdriver (assuming you are replacing an old lock; a new door may require drilling holes and mortising with a chisel). Instructions were very easy to follow. One thing the instructions did not cover, however, was installing the cylinder in the outsider cylinder housing. Unlike other deadbolts I’ve purchased, my Cronus arrived with the cylinder separate from the housing. I simply removed the two small Phillips screws from the back of the outside cylinder housing, pulled off the outer ring, inserted the cylinder, and screwed it back together. Really much simpler than it sounds. Then I followed the included instructions to install the lock. The deadbolt took only a few minutes to install, but since I needed to reinforce my door frame and put in a sturdier strike box, I had to do some drilling and mortising on the frame, but most of you won’t need to deal with that. I would definitely recommend this lock.

Comes with 2 keys not 3
I purchased 5 of these locks. Every single one came with 2 keys and not 3 keys. Deceptive.

Intermediate grade security
This is a good intermediate grade security lock that mounts into a standard door preparation. Lock operates smoothly. As this is Grade 2 rather than Grade 1, it will have less bruit force resistance. Even with Grade 1, your door frame or hinges may first give way upon attack. Mut-T-Lock offers increased bump and pick resistance over the common big box home improvement store models. You will get 3 keys, but if you need more, then you will have to find a source other than a local hardware store. The procedure has you send to a locksmith or hardware company with copy of enclosed key card to validate purchase.

Worth the money
The deadbolt feels very sturdy and secure. Installation was pretty easy, and color-wise it's a perfect match.

Great Lock
So I bought this to replace a older deadbolt and it was a easy replacement. I haven't seen this mentioned in the other reviews. It is important that you understand. This only comes with 2 keys. Also these keys are not able to be copied at your local hardware store. You have to find a locksmith that can make copies or order them from the company at 15.00 a key and a 25.00 standard shipping charge
