Q: where u guys put it after use?

I have a shelf with odds and ends where I don’t use too often, but I keep it in its original box to protect the teeth. I plan on building a board with rare earth magnets inset in the wood to make it more visible, but it’s not built yet.

Q: Good for general flush cutting? Does it matter which side you use if your are cutting dowels? thx

Both edges are the same. It works fine for flush cutting. Great tool!

Q: I am new to this Japanese saw, why this saw has a two-sided design?

One side has very fine teeth for more delicate cuts while the other side has fewer teeth for course cuts. I test a piece of scrap of the same wood I intend to cut to see which set of teeth work best. It seems that the smaller amount of stock to remove, the fine tooth side works best since it prevents splitting or splintering the the edge of the stock. For removing more stock on an edge, you can start with the course side to remove a larger piece of stock, then fine tune you final cut with the fine tooth side. Please Remember: this saw is a “finishing tool” and not a hack saw or a coping saw. It was primarily intended to trim off protruding dowel pins to make them flush with the surface. The blade is very thin so that you can press it flat against the wood surface to achieve flush cuts. If that is what you need, this is a really good tool. But isn’t a general purpose saw for making any old cut.

Q: Is it fast enough for cutting kinds of hard wood?

It's very fast. Cuts hard maple and black walnut.
