She learns the hard way to go with the flow. If the light must come out, she has to go with it. But if darkness tests it's ugly head, she must also comply.Life isn't fair or easy. Her mother has Alzheimer and her time draws near. Her brother is her twin and may be part of the group. No one really knows.It's an interesting, exciting story. This book is a continuation of a previous book, so don't read it unless you've read the first installment.I didn't like this book as much as I did the first one. I enjoyed the continuation of the story and the plot development, but a few things annoyed me to the point that I had difficulty enjoying it.First of all, I don't much like Ellie's twin, Jacob, who behaves like a twelve year old boy for the most part and is little more than annoying for most of the scenes he's in.Secondly, although this book supposedly takes place in NYC it has so many inaccuracies about life in NY that I actually checked at one point to see if I imagined that that's where it took place.People who live in NYC don't live in "quaint, little homes." There are no "convenience stores," much less convenience stores with parking spots in front and on the side. They don't drive to work and park outside their office buildings. They don't drive to church and park in front. They don't move to mansions on "the hillside," and NY TV stations start with W, not K. K is reserved for stations west of the Mississippi.While minor, these inaccuracies show a lack of research or caring about details that I found disturbing.I'm going to read book 3 because I'm interested in where everything is going, and I hope I can give it more than three stars.

There are 5 people in the group that compose the Equilibrium. The Light, the Past, the Future, the Darkness and the Core. The story continues as Ellie learns she has inherited a place the in the group. As the Core, she has the ability to use the powers of everyone else. She has met the other members and is trying to figure out what she is and if she can do it. Although she is so strongly attracted to David, they are not allowed to be together. She knows she is part of a bigger picture but has doubts. It is a daunting path ahead of her. I really like how this story is being told. I look forward to the next book. Great great read.

Another good read,but I really do hate cliffhangers. I just don't understand the point. If a book is good and has a really intriguing storyline I'm already hooked and ready for the next one. I'm enjoying the characters I've gotten to meet and all the tension worked into the relationships. Dump the cliffhanger ending you really don't need it...we'll still buy your books.

Wow! I'm usually a bit disappointed in second in series books but this one does NOT disappoint!This series is fast-paced and wildly entertaining! The depth and emotion of the characters gets you deeply rooted into the story as you go through the turmoil with them.You must read The Core to fully understand the back story but you will never want the series to end!Great job!

This is the second in the series. I did read the first book and was blown away with how fast of a read it was. Now I am waiting for the third installment coming soon. It's about 5 people who can live for eternity by keeping balance in the world but there is one catch; never to fall in love.

I loved the first book, and am in love with this one as well. This author is beyond amazing. What a wonderful story she weaves. Just enough drama wrapped with intrigue and love. You never know what is going to happen next. Can't wait for book three. I am a fan!!!!

Very different from your normal mystery/ suspense book. Very well written, a definite page turner. I`m thoroughly enjoying this series!

I've already bought the next one!
