A waste of time and money
This is the biggest waste of money I've ever come across. It's only 55 pages. It's more like a pamphlet than a book! I'd finished it in an hour and learnt nothing. Why on earth is such a short book priced at £10?? I'm not sure if it said in the description how short it is but I've been caught out and won't be buying books from Amazon again unless I've seen it in a book shop.

Self-discipline is the bridge between your dreams and your reality. This book is a blueprint for building that bridge...
Discipline is the bridge between where you are right and now and where you want to be. Spence actually breaks it down into 3 components: First is knowing what you want in the first place and figuring out a roadmap to getting it. Second is identifying your emotions that don't move you closer to where you want to be. And finally, its figuring out how to take action despite not feeling like it.As humans, we are designed to conserve our resources and be comfortable. But by its very definition, growth can only occur in discomfort. Spence talks about how to overcome procrastination by being aware of when it arises and work twice as hard to avoid it.My favorite chapter was on how to develop self-discipline. Spence laid out a series of questions that allowed me to get to the root of what I was trying to achieve. Getting clear in my mind what my life would be like after I accomplish my goal, better opened my eyes to what I needed to change and what I needed to do right now to get started. In any given moment, there is always just ONE THING that has the most positive impact on our journey towards your goals. This is a concept also talked about in the book by the same title, and Spence does a great job of getting the idea through in his book as well. Also in this chapter, Spence breaks down the core components you will need to develop in order for rock-solid self discipline: Figuring out why you want to achieve something, how to overcome temptations, how to set up rewards, how to put together a routine, why should exercise and eat healthy, practicing gratitude, meditation, affirmations, goals and many other topics as well. These are all areas that I have made it a priority to focus on in my life, and after reading this book it's provided even further motivation for me to do so. Affirmations is something I've tried in the past, but will definitely make it a part of my daily routine after reading this book. It's something like your brain rewires itself when you repeat something to yourself again and again, and it's almost like you think yourself into a new way of being. Kind of woo woo stuff, but I've read about many other people have great success with this stuff. The rest of the book focuses on stuff like how to overcome perfectionism, forming a support network, and enjoying the journey. Many people think of self-discipline as something that's hard and something that should do rather than something that they want to do. For me, as I mentioned at the start, it's the bridge between my dreams and my reality. Anyone that wants to achieve what they're capable of has to start with developing discipline, i.e. the ability to do what needs to be done whether you feel like it or not. This is your blueprint for doing so. Read it once and then read it again. You won't regret it.

And I love that it is affordable and not so lengthy
This is the only book I could really find on the subject. And I love that it is affordable and not so lengthy. It helped me alot. I am now currently reading another one of the authors book called Habits.
