A concise and informative book

The information is presented in a very concise manner and focuses on specific points and also mentions various kinds of strategies. But as far as these techniques are concerned I'm left astray as I'm not able to reduce sub-vocalization neither do I know how to use visualisation in order to comprehend and memorize the content.
